Seems like the same think happened to Howard Johnson.

re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
Next step forward:
I have now finished a 2 meter version of a bidirectional Besslerwheel. It easyly can break the symmetry when started, and it is in balance when standstill.
This version has only 3 parts and is using the tilt swing and "Turn the Turner" princible. The inner wheel has no middle axis and can freely rotate, swing on the dowels.
I can also modify it to selfstarting, then the wheel is always out of balance, from begin on.
It is common physic only used in a different way. It doesn't hurt the LAW's. It is a simple mechanical oscillation system.
The video is to long to show it on BW, so have a look to my homepage.
the future has begun

Hi georg I may not be looking in the right place, but I don't see your website link.Could you add it to this site.Thank You
Work with gravity and gravity will work for you. There are more than two sides to a wheel.
re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
What a pity the video only shows a wheel decelerating across 90 deg rotation after being given a push. Georg, your description makes it sound like you have a working wheel, when it seems clear you do not.
re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
Joel,
To find an authors web site (if he has one) simply click on his name in the left author column of the post your are reading. This will take you to his profile and web link.
I agree with ovyyus, it appears the film clip is showing the same 90 degrees of revolution in a loop. Look closely for the stained wood grain in the spoke.

George's website URL is: http://www.kuenstler-energie.de
Because of my 56 kpbs modem, I was not able to download more than two frames from the gif and that took almost 3 minutes!

Does the animation shown on your website show a wheel that is capable of continuous rotation under its own power? A direct answer from you would help clarify this matter for your fellow board members.

This is an excellent point that you have raised, Ralph. It does sound like George is claiming that he now has a working Bessler style two-directional wheel, especially when he wrote:I agree with ovyyus, it appears the film clip is showing the same 90 degrees of revolution in a loop. Look closely for the stained wood grain in the spoke.
If that was the case, however, why not make a gif showing a complete 360° rotation instead of making what appears to be continuous 360° rotation by looping segments of the wheel only turning through the same 90° of rotation???I can also modify it to selfstarting, then the wheel is always out of balance, from begin on.

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
I think everyone had better wake up.
From what I can see Georg has a working wheel.
I could be wrong as usual, but look at the history!
Do you think Georg cares what we think?
No he just continues.
Continues with or without us.
He is building.

re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
You're dreaming Wheeler. Why would anyone claim to have a working wheel and then provide a video that shows a continuously looped 90 deg rotation? Well... Duh.
re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
Because he is not going to show everything.
and I may be dreaming as you say.
That is a very good point.
However do you not agree that Georg has shown powerful builds?
Edit
What I mean by powerful, is that he has gone very far in building.
Not that he has shown the total working model, but much workmanship.
Would you agree he has put much effort into this?
I do not understand him and why he has made claims that are not exactly clear.
However in this mistoryoftheunknownsomeconfusionisaceptablewouldyouagree?

I'm convinced that Georg has a working wheel, and that people should make an honest effort to understand his concepts and excellent workmanship. Good show, Georg!

Georg,
I don't post too often on the forum because of the overwhelming negativity. It drives many to work in silence and small quite partnerships / teams.
But I would like to speak out and Congratulate you on your latest achievement. You continue to show outstanding craftsmanship in your wheel builds. I have reviewed your website several times in the past and continue to be very impressed with your work.
Your latest post, pictures & video do appear to be an impressive achivement. However, after a second look, I must agree with Ralph's assessment that the video does seems to be a repeating 90 degree turn. I'm not jumping to any negative conclusions here because there could be a very good reason for it. After all, the 90 degree loop of video took 5 meg of download. A continuout 360 degree turn or repeating turn could have been 20 to 100 meg at that rate. So there could be a good reason for the repeat of the 90 degree turn.
Georg, for those with high speed downloads, would you mind providing a video of several continuous rotations, even if it were 100 meg?
Would you mind sharing more details on the motive force for your wheel? From what I can see on your website and post, it is unclear.
And again, congratulations on your latest achievement. Your workmanship is very impressive.
Preston.

I may be mistaken, but was not Georgs video an animation, and not real?

re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
I have no idea what you guys see here that is any different to the first time Goerg made claims of success years ago? Good workmanship can't validate false claims.
re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
Comments and compliments of workmanship is not new on this forum. Some attempts pass for art work, but they do not run.
Yes it is impressive to look upon the work of fine craftsman, but that is not the name of the Game. I build my test models as cheap as possible, using the same material over and over.
If I ever succeed to my satisfaction, then I will break out the Mahogany, polished brass and aluminum. I would and feel capable of building cabinets befitting the Baroque furniture of Bessler's day.
