Spot On.
The real Da vinci code plays out all around us....it's 'You, Me and Nanny Mcphee doing the dance of the desperate.
Oh, you didn't see that movie? Or any of the deluge of other NWO propaganda laced films....?
I'll save you some time.....in the movie Nanny Mcphee.....the central character plays a "Government Nanny".....hmmmm, one prone to intone: "As long as you need me, I will stay, but when you want me, I shall have to go".
As clear an analogue as they seem willing to display, at present, (in what today passes for children's entertainment) to the promise from the Bush whitehouse that the draconian controls underway in our country and around the world are a temporary measure, not a grab for permanent power.
Sad thing is, they seem to have judged the vast majority of world citizens quite accurately, as most of them seem to be just the type of cowering cattle that they prefer.
That's the way it's been from the beginning.....someone(s) grabs at power and authority truly way beyond their juvenile grasp and wages a futile battle to hang on to it.....in the end, desperately trying to sell others on the "Good and evil" harmony thing. You can't have good without evil, they plead. The two go hand in hand.....yadda yadda yadda....
In the right minds of those relative few remaining on this globe who are not already co-opted by the beast, the greater definition of the hopeful word: 'Perfection', as simply the absence of evil, stands in stark contrast to those whose firm conviction in the tenets of moral relativism sync well with their definition of 'Perfection'.....
A state of directed and continual chaos, whereby corrupt and evil men siphon off the blood of the meek, as a vampire bat or mosquito sucks off it's host. In essence, their definition of the word perfection, is....the absence of perfection.

re: You, Me, and Nanny Mcphee
Actually, I view the movie as just an interesting bit of fictional murder mystery. It is the job of a skillful fiction writer to make his plot, characters, setting, etc. seem as real as possible. I think the author did a good job of this to make the story as plausible as possible. In writing, this technique is referred to as "verissimilitude" and, for example, is seen in such famous works as Gulliver's Travels and Robinson Caruso. The main theme of this work of fiction (i.e., The Da Vinci Code) that many frivolous fools have chosen to take as fact, is that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and fathered a child. This is based on one sentence from a heretical Gnostic gospel from the mid-second century in which it is claimed Jesus kissed Mary Magdalene (that proves it for me).
However, the premise of the movie is, I admit, a rather intriguing one. Could it be possible that Jesus was, in fact, married to Mary Magdalene? There does seem to be some shaky evidence for this assertion.
Personally, I kind of hope that he was married to her and had one or more children by her. I think it kind of makes the man Jesus more human and enhances the tragedy of his mission to become a kind of human sacrifice for the sins of mankind.
Imagine how much more this is enhanced by the meeting between Mary Magdalene and Jesus that occurs the morning his tomb is discovered empty. There would have been a pregnant Magdalene wanting to embrace her husband, but somehow not allowed to because he had not yet "ascended" to the Father. In fact, she would have had to content herself knowing that he was soon to depart the scene to perform some other mission and, eventually, hopefully, she could be reunited with him after a Second Coming.
Supposedly, around the year 42 AD, she arrived in a oarless boat on the coast of southern France with some other people. Shortly after Jesus' ascension, she had fled to Eqypt and given birth to a daughter in Alexandria that she named "Sarah" which means "Princess" in Hebrew. When she arrived in France, she had another adult woman named Mary with her. Could this second Mary have been Jesus' mother?!
Well, it's all very interesting and, I think, might actually reinvigorate interest in Christianity. The Roman Catholic Church is currently downplaying all of this, but I think that is a mistake. The world needs something to get their minds off of the recent scandals involving the abuse of children and minors by the Catholic clergy.
A married Jesus? I do not find the idea offensive in the least. I've always suspected that Mary Magdalene was really the 13th Apostle who was, eventually, forced out of the early church because she got into a power struggle with Peter. There is a very vocal group of women within the Catholic Church that wants to, eventually, have women ordained as priestesses so that they can conduct the Mass and deliver other sacrements. Maybe this whole issue of Mary Magdalene's role in the early Christian church can help to bring about a lot of sorely needed reforms in the religion.
ken
P.S. I think it was not until 1969 that the Roman Catholic Church finally acknowledged that Mary Magdalene was not the adulterist that Jesus saved from being stoned. Supposedly, she was only possessed by seven demons that Jesus exorcised from her. After that, she would have idolized Jesus and a close relationship between them seems quite plausible to me.

re: You, Me, and Nanny Mcphee
There is yet another interesting connection between Jesus and Mary Magdalene.
Apparently, Joseph of Arimathea (who, according to "oral" tradition in the Roman Catholic Church, caught Jesus' blood in the Holy Grail as he hung dead on the cross, and, according to the Bible, provided the tomb for Jesus' body) was also the uncle of Mary Magdalene! What a coincidence.
I also think that Joseph of Arimathea was one of the few members of the Sanhedrin who believed that Jesus was for real. I can just imagine Mary Magdalene occasionally visiting her uncle and giving him updates on the latest miracles that Jesus had performed.
Maybe he provided the tomb for Jesus partially out of gratitude for his having exorcised the seven demons out of his niece?

Ken, those 'demons' were often just medical conditions, such as headache, toothache, etc :D
re: You, Me, and Nanny Mcphee
Medical scientists routinely remove up to six ribs at a time from humans for marrow transplants and genetic research....as they appear to be the only bones in the body that will grow back every single time they are carefully removed from the surrounding membrane.....yet many of these same scientists and those like them....arrogantly scoff at the so called 'mythical' Bible account of Eve having been made from a rib removed from Adam.
Also, anyone who has actually read the bible will see that some miracles cannot be explained away so readily....which accounts are supported by impartial secular historians as well.
Even in those days, the connection between promiscuous sexual behavior and genetic corruptions in children was generally understood.
http://hometown.aol.com/rome1221/blind_man.htm
Those who discount the ancients and their observations as 'primitive' and 'superstitious' would do well to check the more than adequate level in their own reserves.
I read a great example of such a perverse dichotomy as man's self defeatist 'atheism' coupled with the gift of creativity, in Popular Science recently. A story about a man who invented a computer that, itself, invents things. He went on about Darwin and the 'genetic evolution' employed in 'his creation'......all the while completely oblivious to the necessity of His having dreamt it up in his head, procuring the parts, assembling the device, intense bouts of 'troubleshooting'.....writing the code to make it work successfully.....etc. All absolutely necessary in order for him to be standing there extolling the 'miracles' of evolution! Absolutely both amazing and disgusting at the same time.
As we enter into a time that mirrors the days of Noah......both the faith and superstitions of every person will be tested. Be they vibrantly opposed or hopelessly entwined in self defeat.
And many who fall under judgement will hope and pray for the miracles they once despised and ridiculed.
There are those who actually still believe the superstitious nonsense that certain plants, with no discernable thought processes....actually 'designed' themselves to latch on to the fur of passing animals in order to spread their seed far and wide or accidentally employed advanced aerodynamic engineering in order to twirl like helicopters on the wind so that they might increase their number upon the earth......and the list is nearly endless of those who pain themselves to avoid the simple and obvious realization that the astounding designs from God's own hand are everywhere to be found in our presently shared reality.
God bless,
TS
P.S.
There was a group of scientists and they were all sitting around discussing which one of them was going to approach God and tell Him that they didn't need him anymore.
One of the scientists volunteered and went to tell God that he was no longer needed.
The scientist says to God - "God, you know, a group of us have been thinking and I've come to tell you that we really don't need you anymore. We don't know if you've simply been testing our patience all this time by not showing your face....seeing how we'd manage by ourselves and what not. Frankly we haven't the patience any longer. I mean, we've been coming up with great theories and ideas, we've cloned sheep, and we're on the verge of cloning humans. So as you can see, we really don't need you."
God nods understandingly and says. "I see. Well, no hard feelings. But before you go let's have a contest. What do you think?"
The scientist says, "Sure. What kind of contest?"
God: "A man-making contest."
The scientist: "Sure! No problem".
The scientist bends down and picks up a handful of dirt and says, "Okay, I think I have what we need!"
God replies, "No, no, no... You go and get your own dirt."

re: You, Me, and Nanny Mcphee
Techstuf there was a question I asked you on another thread, maybe you didn't see it. Do you think the bible is a purely good book, written with pure and good intent, or sealed by the intent of god if you will, so the faithful can be assured that it is good and right in what it talks about, or do you think that there could be a touch of ill intent in it as well, that a hand of evil also wrote some of it/?
re: You, Me, and Nanny Mcphee
I believe what is written upon my heart, and it agrees with what is revealed in His holy word.

re: You, Me, and Nanny Mcphee
Bill...
I tend to agree with you. Most of the "demons" possessing ancient people were just various physical and psychological maladies. From reading the Bible, I am often struck at how it seems like every other person back then had a demon in them.
However, I do believe that there are certain psychiatric disorders wherein the victim can manifest genuine paranormal phenomena either in his body or in the immediate environment. In these circumstances, the witnesses would find the goings on to be rather surprising and, even if they were occurring now in the 21st century, might attribute them to the person being "possessed" by demons.
This does not mean that the possessed person actually does have some sort of spiritual being residing inside of him. Rather, just that the victim's unconscious mind somehow detaches itself from the rest of the person's psyche and begins to act as though it was a separate being. It may perform actions or give responses to the questions of witnesses which the victim is later truly unaware of.
When the very rare cases of genuine "possession" seem to occur and paranormal phenomena manifest, that is an excellent time to collect data which can then help extend our knowledge of the fields of parapsychology and the paranormal.
Michael...
As far as the Bible is concerned, I view it as an attempt by ancient people to rationalize the world around themselves and record some of the rather unusual experiences they had with a "higher" power. However, I also believe that there is still much that we do not know in detail about the events depicted in its pages. Some of it will be accurate, some of it misinterpretations, and, most likely, some of it false. Knowing which is which is, unfortunately, a purely subjective matter. Maybe the words "buyer beware" should have been put on its cover.

Fire and brimstone raining down, cats sleeping with dogs, Al Gore making sweet love to George W. Bush. That's right, the apocalypse - is it only two weeks away?
June 6th this year will translate to 6-6-6, the Number of the Beast, well-known from that crazy Bible chapter known as 'Revelations'. Excitement is mounting amongst Satan's minions, none more so than advertising executives, who are getting ready to jump on the Anti-Christ bandwagon in order to boost corporate profits and stir up some publicity.
Movie execs have already planned to release a remake of the satanic horror film The Omen on the day, a terrifying reminder of why moms-to-be are dreading the day.
And just to show the devil's got a sense of humor, David Lee Roth will also release a new album titled "Strummin' With the Devil," which is a bluegrass tribute to Van Halen. Yes, forget death metal ... Lucifer prefers bluegrass.
The Church of Satan will be holding a major religious event, in which a satanic high Mass will be conducted - but they're just going on the word of the true spawn of Satan, the marketing industry. "We are simply taking advantage of this unique date which the public fears because of Christian mythology as promoted by Hollywood hypesters," says Church of Satan High Priest Peter H. Gilmore.
Colorado authorities are taking things a bit more seriously though. "The bottom line is that our intelligence unit is familiar with 666 and its significance," says Lt. Rafael Cintron of the Colorado Springs Police Department. Some expectant mothers are also wary of giving birth to Damien, while Christian groups are preparing for the Devil himself to walk among us.
And perhaps he will. Or should I say 'she'. Guess when conservative pundit Ann Coulter is scheduled to release her new book Godless? That's right: 6-6-6.
