You're welcome. You asked me earlier about a quote from Bessler.
Here it is :

This translation was provided by John Collins and I believe it will be included in one of his upcoming publications. Maybe he will have a new book available soon.

What is the point of this thread? To guess how it works? If so, I guess that it is because it is in perfect balance and has amazing bearings. They need only start it once in a while when no one is around. Or, given that I guess this is a museum, there is no one there at night, so it could be stopped at closing and started at opening, and merely be able to spin all day. Or maybe they just have a little electric motor hidden in one bearing. :)

The only problem is that Perpetual Motion exhibit at the Franklin Institute is run by a battery motor within the axle. That is the correct answer when and if you go to visit.

A teacher of mine made a very similar looking device. It ran on solar energy(actually artificial lights). The spokes were of rubber and expanded on the side with greatest light energy - making wheel off balance!
