And yet another 2006 patented gravity wheel...

re: And yet another 2006 patented gravity wheel...
This is not a patent, but rather an application (20050905597) for a patent. This is something like what I said might be happening with Darrell's wheel. The weight flexes back as it hits the ramp. I sure it will not get issued without some proof to the patent office that it works. They will reject it saying it is unworkable perpetuual motion.
re: And yet another 2006 patented gravity wheel...
Well, lets all try very hard here and think positive for a change. I think and believe in Positive Solutions. I once owned a corporation with that name.
Well, the design appers to have hope. The wheel patent may be justified. Maybe there is a working model. Maybe he will present positive proof. Maybe it is well documented. And, maybe he will get the patent he seeks for his gravity wheel.
That would be nice and I will be happy for him (or her) :o)
Preston.

Agh, you lost me there Preston. Is there supposed to be a link or are you speaking metaphorically about all potential working gravity wheel claimants ?
There are for instance a handful of members here that if they said tomorrow that they had a working wheel I would believe them immediately (they know who they are). Yet, I would still like to see some independent verification to the claim at a point not to far distant. Call me old fashioned.
EDIT: My mistake; you are talking about the patent application at the top of the page. This is quite a typical ramp design seen in many guises.

Look at this one closely Ralph.....Jimmy

I have pictures that I intended to post, however since I starte this thread, I have found that my machine has been patented already by some one else. Patent #6237342Pe1B
This is one of the oldest failures in the book! What gives James?

Coylo,
I tried that one in 1998, guess what, it didn't work.
Still don't see how I was fooled by Darrell but there you go, must be getting old.
How's the Guinness in your local?
Pete.

The Guinness is good Pete. Although I'm more of a Carlsberg man myself.
This idea was practically the same as my very first gravity wheel attempt back in 2001. As a result I believe that a wheel should require no outside help (guides, ramps, magnets) i.e. I agree that everything should rotate with the wheel as I think Bessler once said.
Hey Pete, are you aware of your past situation being mentioned here.....

re: And yet another 2006 patented gravity wheel...
Didn't Bessler also claim that his wheel could be repaired while in operation? That might suggest some part of it wasn't turning. He also claimed he found the answer where everyone had already looked. Bessler claimed and said a lot of things. IMO, dismiss nothing.coylo wrote:I agree that everything should rotate with the wheel as I think Bessler once said.

Dismiss nothing & accept nothing at face value, especially cheap words.

re: And yet another 2006 patented gravity wheel...
Coylo: Once again I was taken out of context. I found that there was an abundance oc units patented that had my units aproximation at that time. 2000 was not that long ago. I intended to demonstrate that men were greedy and manipulative and afew other things besides. Coyloy, you dialog is not condusive to my well being.
re: And yet another 2006 patented gravity wheel...
Coylo,
My shed and I paid for the materials to build the 8' wheel and Darrell's time to build it as well as the computer, printer/scanner, digital camera and a combi VHS Television.
And to fly him to Toronto to meet me and the hotel bill.
I don't need reminding thanks, he is deluded and I was a sucker because I wanted it to work.
No more mister nice guy, I only spend my money on my ideas now.
Must meet up one day, Carlsberg's fine with me but I'm from London, I will drink anything.
Pete.

Sure thing, and it won't cost you a thing! ......lolMust meet up one day,
I'm long overdue a trip to London to visit a few friends.
What would you know about dialogue!Coyloy, you dialog is not condusive to my well being.
You've been having conversations with yourself ever since you got here!

re: And yet another 2006 patented gravity wheel...
That 2006 patent for a gravity wheel is yet another example of a device that is unworkable. The problem is that as the roller weights encounter the curved ramp, they are lifted by the ramp as the device's axle turns. That requires the input of energy into the system and, for the schematic shown, will generate a CCW torque on the axle. At some point the CCW torque will equal the CW driving torque produced by the shifted CG of the horizontal sliding bar. Once that happens all motion will stop.
Bill...
I, too, am bothered by Bessler's reference to being able to "repair" this wheel while it was in rotation. Ordinarily, I would say that was a physical impossibility. Even if the oil cloth covering was removed, the various radial supports would be whipping by and would block one from inserting their hands or tools into the rotating mechanisms.
Maybe we are misinterpreting what he meant by "repairing". Maybe he meant that he could "adjust" the wheel while it was in rotation. Perhaps by tightening some sort of friction brake on the axle to adjust its rotation rate or adding lubrication to the open axle bearings.

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
re: And yet another 2006 patented gravity wheel...
This was covered over a year ago. We don't know of course but with referencing it to other material it seems like he was saying he made simple parts that could be taken off and replacement parts put on so the machine wouldn't be down for days or weeks at a time.I, too, am bothered by Bessler's reference to being able to "repair" this wheel while it was in rotation.
