Bessler's use of Gravity

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
Ken T,
[IÂ’m sorry. I lost my temper when you referred to my wheel design at our site.]
Apology accepted, I am a forgiving man and do not hold grudges. Hate and despite causes one to loose more sleep than the one it is aimed at!
[There were other posts you made referring to results such as a statement you made in another thread. It was something to the effect of: As for me it is reality. 52 degrees using two weights.]
Reference to any design can be interpreted in many designs, but I have no recall or reason to have mentioned 52 degrees and two weights. I have no idea as to what your are referring to.
{This is not giving away info but did lend fuel to my fire. There are others that match my design or could match any for that fact.]
You got that right, with over 300 years of designs out there since Bessler and God knows how many before, it would be hard not to hit on some similarity with at least one.
[This is close to what I was planning to post but you are now leading a campaign against me. I see torches at the castle door and no way out.]
There is no campaign against you! True defensive actions were planned but with no intention of action in anticipation of a public apology. There is not torches at the castled door, there is a way out. You are simply looking in the wrong direction.
[The fact remains I was justified to air my concerns but it has gone to far. I will give you a chance to be the bigger man. We both need to write an apology statement.]
We all have the right to air our concerns, but an honorable person would count to ten, and then ask are my concerns valid and can I substantiate without leaving room for refute. I feel that you did not, but believe you will the next time such an occurence should arise.
To give away someoneÂ’s life work and say I made a boo boo just turned me a deep shade of red.
In order for me to give away your lifes work, I would have to know or have knowledge of it. What I admit to inadvertently posting was nothing more than a device used as an offensive manner in the dark ages! I have tried to explain to you from the beginning that I do not completely understand your design, I have never received the full specs and have know idea of how many times you have altered or modified it.
Please forgive my anger fit as it made my blind to the truth. You are an honorable and trustworthy man Ralph. Also if you no longer plan to build my wheel hold onto the design and if you can use it in another build contact me and we will work something out.
Your open plea for forgiveness is accepted, yes you were blind to the truth The fact that you now publicly admit it, is your first step to regaining my respect. I have made no decisions as to build or not to build. I have never seen a completed working drawing to scrutinize. Nor do I have text to answers of questions. I would need sketches with explanatory text that I can dissect to analyze.
As for attempting to use your concept in another design, is very doubtful to say the least. As for what I do understand of your design, I have already researched months ago. And as previously stated, I have built one of basic historic facsimile.
[ItÂ’s a shame that I know I have a working wheel and I pissed off the only man who would build it.]
I believe you should reconsider the negativism in the above statement! I do not believe that I am the only man who would and could build it, providing a working drawing and text to explain mode of operation were available. Show how and why it works and you will have assistance crawling out of the woodwork!
[I do not care what the people on the forum think of me Ralph. The only thing on my mind now is how can I clear your name and save face at the same time. I plan to ask these people for help in the future and do not want a cloud hanging over you and I.]
The consensus of the forum that has gone so far as to say "I am without reproach," to me is an admission that I have not lost any face! As for your position, I would say that you are already off to a good start.
[This is a copy of the last email I sent to Ralph. I crossed the line by saying he leaked information. Out of my anger I wronged a great man. I hope that Ralph and James can forgive my stupidity. For those of you who come here to watch us fight it out sorry but for me fights over.]
Admirable closing statement, If you are sincere I do not believe you will have any problem "saving face"
Regards
Ralph

1712,
Just make sure the one building is not the pessimist!
Ralph
What good is an optomist without a pessimist to egg him on?Still, I think, nothing will work though. Hope yall's don't mind the contrarian opinion.

Ralph,
This was the post I was talking about.
Sleepy,
Quote:
Just imagine a way to temporarily suspend one of the weights on the ascending side. That's it.It only has to be suspended for a few degrees of a turn.Nothing else has to move. It's a wonderfully simple way to cleanse your mental palette and spawn some new ideas.
I agree with James, we are both working on wheels of your above description. I cannot speak for James but for me it is not an imagination, but the real thing. and it comes right from Bessler's MT drawings.
As for the "few degrees, do you believe that a combined 52 degrees for two weights would be sufficient?
Ralph

KEN T. ; I accept your apology. My unit is a take off fromm Bessler's description, that is already on the books. A member here brought these words to mind. He is a fellow who is very humble. Anothe sage member has been very helpful. to those two we owe a great deal. James L. Kelly

As for the quote:

Yes I now remember making this statement. The design in mind at the time is MT 137 with the radial continuous "storks bill" and has no reflection on any other design, confidential or otherwise. As for the "few degrees, do you believe that a combined 52 degrees for two weights would be sufficient?
As for the quote:
Does not strike me as my type of composing, but I do not wish to argue the point! It's a wonderfully simple way to cleanse your mental palette and spawn some new ideas.

Ralph,
The quote was not yours only the answer. I mistook it to be a description of what my wheel was capable of. Sorry my bad.

Well, it's truly nice to finally see reason and peace prevail on this thread.
I guess that momentary anger is part of being human. We become emotionally involved in things and then have a tendency to jump to false conclusions without having all of the facts. Feelings are hurt and friendships damaged unnecessarily. A lot of time, when I feel offended, I try to hold off on an instant response and sleep on it for a day. Most of the time, a day later, I find that what was said or done really does not bother me that much. If it still does, I may mention it and then the person I'm still holding responsible may say that he did not realize that he was offending me and apologizes. Then I can realize how mistaken I was.
Holding a grudge against someone or something is something that should only be done rarely and only for the best of reasons. Everything else is not worth the stress...

Please forgive my anger fit as it made my bind to the truth.

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ

This is one of my favorite retorts. " People only believe what they understand, and that is a damn shame; because sometimes that is not much! James L. Kelly
