Oxygon...

Thanks much for bringing this to our attention; it was helpful that you did.

For those of you who may not have costly high speed access, here is the Olbermann piece in readable form: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240/

I have an intense feeling of an impending, insurrectional earthquake developing in our nation. Don't you?

HOW FAR will 'they' be allowed to go?

This question is 'key', and is in no way meant to be merely rhetorical.

Beng wholly unaware of it, the "Reichstag Unit" has helped many a bumbling evil-doer right along with their destructive plans. More of such aided 'terrorist incidents' can be expected. We shall all be standing by . . .

Anyone with functioning gray cells left, as well as a little courage, can readily see what is happening here, and right under our very noses, but the others, those OTHERS who take that route named "EASY", and happily fall-in with the criminal status-quo and it's dumbing-down propaganda and foolish pronouncements, are, tragic unwitting 'aiders' and 'abettors' of the enemies of right, this I say with profound sadness, and we are veritably swimming in them: Left, Right and Center; mother, father, sister, brother and friend. HOW to penetrate cement-hardened craniums now traveling down "EASY ST.", is THE primary task of the moment.

Must all be in ruins before they condescend 'to get it'?

In silent dark places in their hearts, THEY MUST KNOW what they are, even if not fully aware of what monstrousness their tepid ways will lead us all to. They are the ones in suspicious love with their Tele-Visions; their Socialist Security; their rickety-tick pensions; endless disgusting corporatist/merchantilist produced crap for 'consumers'; nonsensical distractions galore, and utterly indefensible by all known rational means - that humanist/secularist-generated feel good fluff and 'philosophy', of what does not, never did and never will work; and so-on.

Fill-in any remaining blanks for yourselves.

This pathological malaise of suicidal, engineered apathy, is what is dooming America, or what's left of it, that is: the fat, the lazy and the endlessly 'willing-to-comfort', and this latter project inferring a hearty 'no matter what', to the actual dire cost, soon to accrue upon the rest of us.

This ugly miscellany of lowness is, in fact, orders of magnitude beneath mere, simple contempt. It is, and well should be, inspiring of an unrelenting program of blood-spitting FURY and OUTRAGE!

WHEN-OH-WHEN will this right and proper self-protective reaction manifest, and the gauntlet be thrown down, finally, for all to SEE and BE WARNED by?

I WILL TELL ALL OF YOU THIS NOW:

The most basic expositions that one may secure, as to what so baffles and frightens us today, are to be had by reading through our magnificent Declaration of Independence. Therein the wise reader will find all the explanation necessary to show what humans will DO to one another, if not the WHY. All things logical and ordering for human social organization may then be read of in The Articles of Confederation, and following after and inferior to them, The Constitution, that thing now being ripped to shreds, by the seedy gangster cabal of misfits, now in power.

And, by-the-way, I MISSED our present Beloved Leader reading to us, pertinent patriotic passages of inspiration, from our grand Declaration on July 4th last, didn't you? Surely he MUST have done it? Surely! (Sure!)

Yes, first things first I say.

Then afterward, study the history of and solid principles laying behind, 'false flag operations'.

I repeat,

FALSE-FLAG-OPERATIONS,

and come to comprehend in a cool and rational way, WHY they work, and HOW those who order them employed, SUBSEQUENTLY DO BENEFIT, and, in our case here, as well as others elsewhere, this in great part by exploiting fear and weakness generated by constant and incessant ALARMING, all worked-up and sustained by their sell-out, treasonous lackey press and media!

Then, read Orwell's "1984" for the details of OUR OWN near future, each and every one of the essential points of it THEN, materializing as our NOW, and right under cussed-stubborn, know-it-all noses. [Coincidentally, both MOVIES made of the classic novel convey to perfection, almost, the proper mood and drabness that will be features of our futures now unfolding. Richard Burton was the perfect malevolent and fearsome presence, and Jon Hurt the finest victim-type possible to imagine, yes, just like YOU and like ME! For those who cannot read so intensely, watching one or the other of them will get across what needs to be.]

Yes, Olbermann is justifiably vexed and alarmed. Given such circumstances as we have, why shouldn't he be? But this rather understandable outburst of his is but a tiny tip of a far greater iceberg now forming, one positioning four-square-against the present regime in full dictatorial power, poised like the Sword of Damocles over our failed, bankrupted peoples' Democracy of Corporations - a 'system' of such specious ordering and process, of a kind so very loathed, and viscerally HATED by The Founders!

Of course, it is as frightening as the imagined Devil's face itself, but, cool understandings can assuage a great deal that is otherwise of the engineered irrational and alarmist, this positively calculated to instill hopelessness within us all. We are basically too good to be manipulated by such savage cunning and utter black heartedness.

Another essential one for the honest and strong-of-heart: do read Dr. Wilhelm Reich's "The Mass Psychology of Fascism" if you want your fascism topic set to the truly rational, and not to the hysterical-idiotic as it is usually pedalled to us. (Probably why they killed him in prison: he knew and said too much that was flash powder-dangerous, usable truth, and THAT cannot be allowed, can it? Honestly, if I were 'they', I wouldn't have.) You will then come to KNOW, and not guess at, why term "Islamo-Fascism" is patent stuff and nonsense, being an absolute contradiction in terminology. This bit of pseudo-logical rhetorical excess has the imprint of 'Herr v. Rove, HSA', all over it, don't you think?

THE KEY is to secure the capacity for truly thinking for one's own self, which really is not that easily done - false notions to-the-contrary notwithstanding - this, given the handy headwork already done upon us, by that filthy and vicious, corporatist/merchantilist Mind Melting Machine - "The Establishment"!

Well, good luck to us all . . . we are going to need TONS of it!

Cheers!

James

P.S. In all ways possible - do let's keep things "positive".

There are three words one will never hear a politician utter: "I was wrong."

Well, I think it is obvious to the majority of Americans that our government made a lot of mistakes in its initial response to the terrorists. In fact, probably everything we were told about Iraq was wrong. Saddam Hussein did not have WMD's and he hated Al Qaeda almost as much as the USA does.

However, even after I realized those were mistakes (some say outright lies), I still think removing Hussein from power was a good idea. The fact is that they are discovering mass graves all over Iraq now and that Hussein was a mass murderer. Maybe not personally, but he created the climate within which human rights abuses of the worst kind were taking place. I won't recount them because some of them are enough to give one nightmares.

Whether or not invading Iraq was a good idea or not, the fact is that we are there now and, if we leave before a stable, self-protective, democratic Iraqi government is established, then all of the lives of the Coalition forces that were lost will be in vain. The resulting collapse of the Western created government will be hailed by Al Qaeda as a great victory and a sign of how really weak the West is. The result? We can expect even more terrorist acts worldwide as muslim extremists continue to pursue their goal of a worldwide "Caliphate". And it will not just be limited to a globe girdling belt from Morocco to Indonesia...there are radical muslim clerics in London mosques right now telling their congregations that it is the will of Allah that the muslims take over Great Britain and convert it to Islam!

In a sense, maybe what is happening in Iraq is for the good in the long run. The lessons learned there will come in handy as the West continues to invade any Middle East state that is taken over by terrorists and which can serve as a staging area for their continued attacks against the West. Although I disagree with the Bush Administration on many issues, I do agree with their accessment that merely withdrawing from the Middle East and leaving it to the mercy of the terrorists will not stop the terrorism against the West. Remember, the fanatics in these terrorists organizations believe that it is their religious "duty" and destiny to conquer the world and convert everyone to their extreme brand of Islam. God help anybody that does not accept this conversion.

I, too, am bothered that more has not been done with the site that the original WTC towers stood upon. But, erecting an even taller Freedom Tower to take their place is not something that can be done overnight. It will be done eventually. For the present, we have a yearly service at the site and a day of national mourning for those who lost their lives on that horrible day.

Ken i have this terrible habit i just can't get past

every time someone speaking of removing Sadam as though it was a really good idea i find my self asking this question

is that with the sacrifice of other folks children or do you feel strongly enough about doing the job to sacrifice one of you're own to the task

i have yet to encounter anyone willing to offer up one of their own children

i belive anyone who thinks this sink hole of a mess of a war is a good idea should be quickly shipped off to iraq to do their righteous duty for their righteous beliefs

will you be shipping out one of you're own with the next batch of other folks kids

Winkle makes a strong point here. If I had thought of it, I would have as well.

Just yesterday, some conservative official here, or in England, suggested in all seriousness, that it might be more than of utility to RE-INSTALL Sadham, for it appears that if he is not, the whole thing in Iraq very well may go over into full-bore civil war.

To the Moslem mind, The Conquerer, which was the old Sadham and could be again, is deserving of his power and respect because HE TAKES IT! This is something which we are utterly incapable of comprehending, but nevertheless, it is so.

This is but one reason why, I believe, that only a nominalized 'democracy' can ever work in those parts, one sort of like Mubarik's Egypt. He's the president there, but, he's still a dictator of a sort and maintains a secular society, keeping dangerous radicalism at-bay.

Well, my kids have no interest in serving in the military. However, if they did, I would support their decision to do so.

I happen to think that military service is noble. That is, it is noble to risk one's life for the freedom and safety of his (or her) loved ones, country, or strangers.

However, that being said, I think each of us must decide for ourselves if we choose to be noble and, if so, in what way and to what degree.

Currently, the USA has voluntary military forces and most of the soldiers fighting overseas appear to me to be highly motivated and dedicated. I support their endeavors. The ongoing struggle in Iraq is not popular in America right now, but this is mainly due to the failure of the American public to see what it has to do with the "war" on terrorism.

What we should learn from Iraq is that whatever future Middle East states the Western powers get involved with, they will have to be prepared to "stay the course" until the stablized democratic governments in those states are able to defend themselves against the efforts of the terrorists to topple them. If we are not prepared to do that, then we should think twice about getting involved.

Sadly, we live in an imperfect world with an inequitable distribution of resources and wealth. That fact that there are so many different languages, cultures, religions, etc. only makes thing more complicated. Misunderstandings, fears, and jealousies will, in such a situation, naturally exist and result in escalation of tensions until precious human blood is needlessly shed.

Years after a conflict that has claimed the lives of thousands or hundreds of thousands, people will look back and wonder what it was really all about and whether or not it was worth the price that had to be paid before reason once again reigned.

The situation in the Middle East and with terrorism will be no different. Future generations will see it all and the lives it cost as just another passing historical footnote.

I look forward to a better world in which all men and women are brothers and sisters and considered to be members of the same human race. A world where differences are minimized and the many things we all have in common are emphasized.

Well, it won't be here in my remaining lifetime and, probably, not that of my kids. But, maybe, my grandchildren will see it some day...

If you could evenly divide all the resources on earth among everyone, everyone would have more than enough. It wouldn't (take) long before there would be those that had a lot and those that were destitute. Most wealth is gradually accumulated.

Bessler007...

I sometimes wonder what the world would be like if we had some sort of perfect system in which the existing wealth of the world was precisely and even divided amongst all humans or, at least, all those over a certain age.

Perhaps you are right, in such a system, the smarter, greedier, and less secure individuals might, over the course of time, slowly transfer the wealth of the duller, generous, and more secure humans into their own coffers. Then, before anybody knew it, we'd all be right back to where we are now!

But, then again, maybe that would not happen. I mean, if everybody was equal in wealth and the status derived from it, then there would really be no rich or poor people. Social classes would disappear along with the inequities they spawn. Perhaps in such a situation, people's innate "need" for more would abait and everybody would be content with what they had. Then, perhaps, people could begin to interact with each other without having to keep their eyes on the "bottom line" at all times. Maybe a Golden Age of peace and brotherhood would dawn for all on planet Earth...

Of course I'm right. People that crave to be generous with themselves and friends today will always be caught off guard by the ups and downs of life. They'll find themselves in a position where they sell their expensive toys at 10 cents on the dollar to people that managed their affairs better and saved their surplus. You can always invest in the stupidity of people if you've considered your bottom line and saved a little. People will never let you down.
