Scott; The numbers were of my computer not of me. all at once every space , even those that required mycumputer entry were filled in with eights. James l. Kelly
re: Bessler's use of Gravity
James, I have no idea what that means but I have a question. What gives? Do you enjoy "yes I do, no you don't" arguments? How do you expect anyone to believe your story? "Forgot" the idea for years? Please give me a break. I have stayed on the sidelines so far but I'm starting to get annoyed now. Please put up or quiet down.
Thanks,
Scott

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
I am going to be in the states around the end of Oct. James has given permission for me to drop in. I found out that he lives 35 minutes from where our ministry is based (it's a small small world).
I have agreee that I would not repeat what I see.
I was wondering james If it would be allowed to simply give to the board a yes or no (and no more after our visit)......but the call is yours to make. In my conversations with James he sounds like a good ole hoosier to me.

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
Hi Jon , that should be an interesting visit for you and it would be nice just to get a "yes" or a "no" to put this matter to rest.
More would be even nicer but we'll take whatever we can get.
James sounds like he is a "good ole boy" , a hunter too, so be careful as he probably has a "big ole gun" and knows how to use it.
Have a great trip.

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
I talked to James (Jimmie) for the first time this morning. I have been in E-mail contact for quite some time and just wanted to put a voice to it. He may be getting old, but he's not an idiot.
I agree with Jon, he comes across very down home...damn nice guy! I have no problem with a yes or no from Jon.
Guys, it is a concept...and it does show some promise. There are some intricate details that have to be addressed for us to really get an idea of how/if it can be controlled. Jimmie says it can and I think if it is possible, he would be able to figure it out. Again, he was not kidding when he mentioned that it would throw him over...it would!
I sure wish I had the time to detour to his place on my drive back down...

Steve and all
It sounds like you know the design.
If it is what I think, he has a similar design as mine, and I think a spring control type of shock absorber would be a good remedy if indeed this is the design.

it exists I think I found it.

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
It goes like this.
James and I are working on a concept. We are both working trial and error on the same basic design. Some time back, Steve hits close to home on his thread with the idea.
James and I agree to include Steve as he has given us valualble innovative input without total realization. He also will fill the computer gap that James and I both lack.
As to what has been posted here is each mans personal statements.
I have been working very hard attempting to get my version to a running state before entering the hospital today. I am not going to make my deadline, I have a possible two day set-back last night with weight clearance problems. I must re-index and machine new parts. I have lost count of the times that James has reported taking his apart and putting back together. I am on my third go-around.
The design apprears to be out of reach for WM2D therefore it is all trial and error hands on building.
I will add this much:
It is a self starter.
It does not need to be preset or loaded to start.
Acceleration is like a falling rock and detrimental to a weak or underbuild frame. James and I have both experienced structural failure more than once. That is my main reason why it is taking me longer to prove or disprove the design.
I am currently working with a double layer of 1/16" structural steel and using 1-1/2" thick OSHA approved laminated plywood for frame material. All this for 2.5 pound weights.
Steve has seen what the machine will do to the plywood without the steel backing.
Now I can anticipate a reply "why not use smaller weights", I will save you the time. Smaller weights are not an option for testing the value of this design. After all, were not Bessler's estimated at four pounds.
I am now off to the hospital to check in, see ya when I get back!

I'll express one more time on this...I am pretty proficient on WM2D...some of my stuff is on here and should demonstrate that. This design needs 3D...that I do not have. I have tried stacking and it will not come close to what is really needed. Some components would not be represented as they really are and would be very inefficiently replicated using diversionary tactics within WM2D. Cut a little break here, it's WM2D for a reason....

P.S. A spring type shock absorber is not what is needed. If it can be controlled this will take care of itself.

Maybe 4D would be enough...bluesgtr44 wrote:The design apprears to be out of reach for WM2D therefore it is all trial and error hands on building.

It doesn't save either - but maybe you could prove concept. (It does seem more complex to use/set up models.) It's been a while since I looked, but I believe it will install/run with "demo" mode.

Any way to get this program to use Autocad files.
