Tips for using the new forum

Sorry, that is a problem that has been happening intermittently lately for certain users (including myself once), not sure why. I will keep an eye on it.

I did not have this problem, but I did notice a strange way the page opened sometimes.
I also had a limit of time notice for connection, but that must be because I was on dial up and it took too long.
Other than simple things your work and site seem to be well organized and with good graphics and upload processing.
I really see your profession in this.

By the way do you get any time for Bessler Research of your own?

Thanks for your kind remarks. I appreciate it.

Unfortunately, in fact I don't have much time for Bessler research of my own these days. In my experience, the cycle of Bessler enthusiasm ebbs and flows like any other natural process. My goal here is to create a medium through which other people experiencing the same ebbs and flows can easily collaborate with kindred spirits to hopefully one day help solve the world's greatest puzzle.

My rate went from respected to appreciated after I made that last comment to you?
Just wondering how that can happen.

I would not put any stake at all in small changes one way or the other.

I keep getting the folowing message at random, It will either appear at the top of an incomplete page or at the bottom.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\besslerwheel\forum\includes\template.php(127) : eval()'d code on line 118

Can anyone out there tell me what this means and or how to get rid of it.

Hi Ralph sorry for the trouble. Is it always when you've been waiting 30 seconds for a page to load? Also is it always those same line numbers?

yes the forum is downloading slow.

The numbers are always different, here is a copy and paste of the one found at the bottom of this page.

It is right at the bottom of Preview Submit and does not allow me to scroll down to your post for ready reference.

On some threads it appears at the top of the page and sometimes it it cuts the text verticly at center of screen.

It sure does break up a dull routine! :-)

I've been getting the same message too Scott - and very slow downloading (just for your info).

OK thanks for the info. I think there was a DOS attack. I added a filter rule to my firewall and restarted the server. Hope that helps. Sorry for the trouble.

I've been getting the same "Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in ..." message on and off over the last month. I've always thought it had something to do with my slow dial-up connection and my habit of starting a new unread page loading just before the previous one finishes loading. (I push my slow dial-up to the absolute limit)

A few months ago a new cell phone tower was put up about two miles away. Now if I can find an internet provider to install a Motorola broadband antenna on the new tower...
