Hey, sorry for the trouble everyone. Thanks a lot for letting me know about the problem.

About a month ago I was looking through the server logs and noticed a bunch of failed requests. After searching around on google I made a small change to my php config settings to try and solve the problem.

Apparently I created a bigger one. Sorry about that! Funny thing is I never noticed any performance hit.

I have reverted the change now. Hopefully you will see an improvement in performance (back to its old level at least). Please let me know either way.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,

This morning I am proud and please to say that I am getting DSL speed downloads. Everything appears to be back to normal.

Thank You!

Scott, why is it that when I click on "view posts since last login (eg 10)" that I only find (eg) 2 new posts instead of the 10 I am expecting. Are there private messages also being tallied?
I only realized too late that life was short.

Hey, I can answer this one! There may be 10 new posts but they might be in only 2 threads, so when you click "view posts since last login" then you only get the 2 threads, which have a combined total of 10 new posts!

I have the same thing, yesterday it said 6 new post and there was only 1 post.
Day before that it said 15 new post and there were only 4 or 5.

Today it said 27 new posts only found 10

With the trade off of no formatting options. But I think it will come in handy. People don't use formatting very often anyway.

Plus remember the forum automatically handles links starting with http:// anyway, so those don't need to be formatted unless you want to get fancy.

WOW! The online guest users have almost tripled in the last few weeks! Over 1200 during some hours. Or are they just robots?

Could be robots or spammers. Might also have something to do with the free publicity we got in Fortean Times recently.

By the way thanks for that, Coylo.

well it that time again!

I have lost the ability to open "spell checker" again. All I get is a flicker. I have checked for Popups OK in Google and cannot find any blocked Bessler related URLS in Lavasoft Ad-Watch.

Any suggestions on repairing this problem.
