Mr Tim, c'mon, I think you are really exaggerating about the "roach motel". In my opinion you are being WAY too optimistic!!

I have never heard Bill use such positive thinking on this.
Seems unusual.
Are you ok Bill? or are you just covering yourself if this works.

I also hope for everyones sake it is real.

Wheelie, Surely I'd only need to cover myself if I had something personal to lose on it - which I most certainly don't.

I really do hope this pans out though. Against the dwindling odds I can only just manage the effort to remain positive. It's only another couple of days of hope - you want to take that away from me? :D

It seems that worst thing that could possibly happen for Steorn.....has happened! They had a whole year to prepare for this moment and they messed it up. You only have to search the net to see how much this has damaged them. They have handed the skeptics a stick to beat them with.

Why do they continue to show the model not working?

Last man to leave....turn out the lights.

EDIT:

Latest news is that Steorn has cancelled the event!
The Steorn Orbo exhibition has been canceled. According to a press release by Steorn CEO (and lead shyster) Sean McCarthy, the company "will explore alternative dates for the public demonstration." Yeah, right. If the heat from the lights was really an issue for the on-site built device, why didn't they: 1) turn off the lights, or 2) fly in the so-called working "free energy" device from Dublin? After all, they still have 9 days left to exhibit. Lame.

Looks like the odds on this just dwindled to nothing. A whole year to mess up sounds like pretty good planning to me. Who would have guessed :P

The generator may also one day be used to power a pacemaker, which would indeed be a funny twist: It would derive its power from the beating of the heart that its job is to keep on track. How's that for existentialism
That's from the Steorn website. What if this is what these folks really have planned and the whole "free energy via perpetual motion is just to grab as much attention, while still being safe because of the claim: well we just aren't sure and that's why we are having it tested.

Possible future quote from Steorn?
"We thought, well maybe since it gets its power from the beating of the heart, and keeps the heart going so it doesn't die, maybe theres a synergy there; no loss in energy, and thats what we want to have tested -

((Steorn confession?~)) but all of our ideas which are in our safeguard, had the stipulation that all disclosure must be behind closed doors to the public to maintain the secrecy of our ideas which are patentable.

Just think of the time and embarrassment saved if Steorn had just looked at MT-2 and 3 (look familiar?) when making their plastic toy. I really had high hopes and wanted to believe until I saw the model. Even if they do have something, the model (if it did ever work) is a huge disappointment. I can see it now: Tilley, Bendini, Pantone, STEORN. One more name on a long list of excuse makers. The bottom line is always the same: "We need a little more money to develop it". BS!

Don't know about facts but some results would be a good start. Not one straight pin out there, or so it seems. They all want something and they'll clearly lie, cheat and steal (or hype-market) to get it. Over the years I've seen some seemingly good people fall to their own greed. Some you'd never suspect would be so weak. The lure of money and/or limelight is obviously character carcinogenic - beware!

So... what's the weather like in your part of the world? :P

HelloALL:

Weel, maybe all is not lost....

Perhaps thay did it ("broken" wheel) on purpose, just so they could come back after "they're a bunch of douchebags" was said enough times??

We should be careful.

I have a hard time believing that they would have gone this far knowing the whole thing was a big joke.

But then again, I've been fooled many times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BE CAREFUL either way.
