gadget geek ; You want to borrow a shovel ??? your only one in a long line who have wanted to desecrate his resting place . he anticipated yours and everyones intentions and took appropriate action !! as one ole timer told me "yes ,, he's buried , but not where everyone thinks he is" !! so if you go digging around ANY where on his property you will find nothing !! unless the fake buriel of a box of rocks for appearences sake !! lemme see now , he is now 327 years old . been dead for 262 years !! do you think he really needs your or anyones company ?? i do not think his sanctity needs to be violated in any way shape or manor !! if his secret resting place has not been discovered by now far be it from me to point the way for the robbers and ghouls !! although if the lay of things hasn't changed too much i could point to the exact spot !! Doc. He was a clever one !!

Is paranoiac, clever or secretive the same? If not in what group does Bessler belong?

The question is did Bessler have a strategy for the secret to be revealed after his death? Did he care if it remained a secret forever? Maybe he thought that if he wasn't getting the money then stuff everyone else. He seemed to me to be a bitter person who maybe was justifiably so considering the flak he received.

Now if any of you believe in the afterlife (and I'm not mentioning religions here), then what if Bessler was desperate to "rest in peace". To fix this dilemma of the wheel never being revealed. Like a ghost that wants to put things right.

Maybe there are contemporary signs that Bessler is trying to give us. And we fail to see them. A bit far fetched I know, but i like to get people to think outside the square and have some fun at the same time!

Can we get in contact with the Ghost Whisperer? (Tv show) or use a
OUIJA board. Any other suggestions and don't be rude.

Boiler Bill ; listen up more movie material, [more yarn] !! gonna be a 6 star !!! after Johann got killed they was a team & wagon fetchin his body back in a coffin , tarped . about the time they figgered they'd arrive they had another team & wagon with dummy coffin tarped waiting outside of town . the light wagon lagged back a bit while the one with Johann went directly to the Bessler Family Buriel CRYPT !! it was after dark & nobody saw nothin . the other light wagon proceeded to Johanns house where they off loaded the empty coffin into the house . then had a buriel of it the following day at the house somplace . i dont know if they put some rock in it for ballast or mebie that statue !!! NOTE sometime back someone did tell JC that Gottfried was buried next to Johann in a crypt !! jc couldn't confirm it one way or another !! now before ya'll git bent outa shape & start throwin green dots all over , if ole jc will swear he wont disturb the crypts integrity other than to peep in or Johanns remains i will reveal its location to him only , to stop any scavengers !!! and this is all dependant on what changes were made to the grounds through the years do to different tenacy , ww2 bombings etc. even if the landmark is gone he will still be able to ascertain the crypts location . i guess thats the best i can do for ya'll on that subject !! take it or leave it !! makes no nevermind ta me one way or the other !!! oh & i believe that foundry where he had that statue cast was in furstenburg . how many klicks is that from karlshafen ?? anybody know if they was a foundry there in that time period ?? Doc.

You guys don't get it :) There is a small wheel in his grave, and its STILL TURNING! Right next to his head. If you place your ear on top of his grave you can hear woop woop as it turns. The cockroaches are riding on it having the time of their lives. Mind you a few got squished!

I was suggesting that perhaps JB planned ahead in case of his untimely death by burying a wheel in the location of his burial plot so that he would eventually receive credit for his invention. If he was buried elsewhere, perhaps his intention was ignored and his plan was in vain. Didn't he mention burying a wheel?

The comment about the shovel was (perhaps) a poor attempt at a joke.

I should be more careful to look at the date before I start reading a thread. Image
