re: Welcome!
I think you're just keeping up the pretense to make me think I'm mad! ;-)MrTim wrote:Really now Stewart, I looked at Bessler's portrait for 5 minutes and didn't see it move at all. I think you're just playing with us.... ;)
I'm afraid there's no way you could do that from the website content, however if you go to this topic:AB Hammer wrote:I like the start of your page, and I would like to figure out how to put the backdrop bessler's wheel as my computers walpaper. Moving of course. I think that would be cool.

...you'll find some stills (jpegs) and animations (gifs) of the same 3d model. Here's a link to a better quality animation than the one I posted on the forum:

...you could set that to animate on your desktop, but I wouldn't recommend it as it will slow your computer down.
I've made 3d models of both the Merseburg and Kassel wheels and you'll be able to walk around them while they run on my website eventually.
Now that you mention it, it might be a bit of fun to create a Bessler Windows desktop theme. I might do one for download from my website at some point.
The image that MrTim and I are referring to however, is the one at the top of this forum. Does anyone else see Bessler's eyes move and his tongue poke out? I've only just noticed it happening, and it seems so obvious now that I can't believe I could have missed it if it had been happening all along. Perhaps there's some criteria that makes it happen, but I guess only Scott could answer that! ;-)

re: Welcome!
Stewart, I think the eyes should point individually so Bessler goes cross-eyed when the pointer's on his nose :D
Some nice animation.
Some nice animation.
Funnily enough, when I first did it that was exactly what happened, and although it was quite amusing for a while I decided to change it and make the eyes co-ordinated so that he didn't look quite so daft!ovyyus wrote:Stewart, I think the eyes should point individually so Bessler goes cross-eyed when the pointer's on his nose :D
BTW, thanks Scott for adding a bit of humour to your own site - I laughed out loud when I first saw it, and genuinely though I was seeing things for a minute there, until it kept happening!

It was a sql table corruption problem. It was easy to fix since the box is right here. There are some benefits to not using remote hosting.

Scott of-Topic is off....no topic exits message
re: Welcome!
I see that. The problem is not with Off-Topic but with pagination on certain longer threads. Not sure what the problem is and sorry but I don't have time to fix it right now. Will try to look into it tomorrow. In the meantime sorry for the inconvenience.
