Missing pages

Yesterday I was able to access page 7 of Patricks thread "Bessler's Quest Achieved". Along with Patrick's post and several others Including a post from myself the page would load properly.
Today page 7 will not load , page 6 is the last page that loads.

Where did it go Scott ??

I have noticed the same thing as graham. It is like it gets just short of showing and nothing more than the top headers.

Yes I sent a pm to scott this morning about it too. It's not 7 only, page 2 and 3 are also dead. This happened numerous times the past period as well with only that specific thread, and after a while it worked properly again.

Sorry, yes i know about the problem but have no idea why it's happening. Possibly a database corruption issue. I am working with the hosting provider to resolve it.

OK I have an update. The forum appears to hang whenever it tries to show a post by Coylo. Something in the database related to his user account must have become corrupted. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what. Hopefully I can fix the problem without having to delete his account and create a new one.

What ever it is is spreading, I cannot get into Patrick's thread from forum index.

Last post by Broli, maybe it is not Coylo or both are causing the problem.

Yes Jim, not being able to view his profile page is another symptom of the underlying problem. The thing is neither of those queries are the source of the error and each works fine when I run them alone. I'm guessing there is a problem in some other table somewhere which is making a join take too long and then mysql is timing out later on. I have been chasing red herrings like this for the last two days...

Ralph, I don't think it's spreading. You can view any page just fine except one that has a post from Coylo on it. Nor can you view his profile page.

Coylo has agreed not to post again until the problem is resolved so no more pages should go missing.

How would that help in this case? You want me to reset the database to how it was at 6:30 am on Dec 20 when this problem first surfaced? We would lose far too many posts.

OK I've saved coylo's vital stats and deleted his account. Things seem to be working much better now.

Coylo when you read this let me know, I'd like to try a few things in creating your new account to maybe re-establish links to your old data.

In particular I'd like you to try creating a new account with the same name "coylo" first.
