if the weights fall more than 1/4 to 1/3 of the width of the wheel from the axle they will not fall back to the axle at nine o'clock
another way could be when the weight falls in at 9 the weight could transfer to the other lever and one side would remain empty

big difference is that on this design the weight at 9 will be carried into the axle by gravity and it will reach the 9 position
i am saying 9 but could be 9:o5 or 9:10 it really dosn't matter it will reach that position and fall

the weight needs to be no more than a 1/4 to 1/3 of the length of the lever from the axle when in the outer position
the weight in this design never goes close to the wheel rim
the closer to the axle the quicker it earler it will fall back to the axle
draw a circle and axel then use something as a lever as i have described and watch while rotateing it to see if it will fall back at about 9

that greed he spoke of is trying to get max power by having the weight out by the rim
that is the point of max power but the weight will not cycle when it's out there it must be held closer to the axle

Winkle, hi.
At some 2 years I was very excited about this MT inspired draw.
I got that the ''key'' could be ''rest'' the charge against the ''earth'' at axle, right near the hammers.
The stuff was too rough but enough to make me give up.

that's not very close
looks like you have the weights pined to the wheel
it will not work that way
you have to use the catches at the rim like i drew them
the weights as i drew them hang on the inside of the lever toward the axle
in you're avi they hang all around the lever
they should be shaped as described in Johns literature
that's how i have drawn them
like Bessler's shaped weights
if you look closely at the left side weight in you'r avi you will see that if it were shaped as i have drawn it it would nearly fall into the axle
if built properly and it does not fall it needs to be a little closer to the axle
as i said before (gread is a evil root) is moving the weight too far from the axle
weights must be of proper weight for size of wheel
you will be suprised at the difference it makes if designed as i drew them
i have no idea if this can be worked up in wm2d as drawn or not
just my thought but seems like those weights coming together in the center would be like an anvil receiving many blows
also in a different fashion i made mention of using one weight with a hole through the center and letting it pass through the axle moving from one lever to the other lever
properly built it will not fall off

i need to revisit this design
only just realized it but i left something important out of the description

that was a nice piece of work but i didn't explain the design very well
the levers that hold the weights are not solid they are springy spring levers
i didn't draw or explain them very good they are kind of like the levers on MT 18 only not so springy
i know this is showing two weights but try to visualize it with eight weights
at least three on the left side would be inside the axle with one out side not much past 9:00 and at least three on the right side would be out side the axle
i'm thinking that articulated chain on the toys page needs to be a connect between the weights to keep them from getting to far out from the axle
these weights do not go out and lay on the rim of the wheel
if they get to far out they will not come back to the axle in time
i believe that's part of what Mr. Bessler meant by greed is an evil root
that and this
i don't believe a weight will ever be carried back to the top of a wheel by or under the influence of gravity
if people did live that long i would not expect to see that happen not in ten thousand years
gravity - it's not just a good idea - it's the law
Mr. Bessler was also bound by the same laws that we are
some may be getting distracted looking at the outer wheel thinking weights need to return to that top when really they only need to return to the top of the mechanism
inside the wheel
i think weights need to cycle some where below the top of the outer wheel but appear from the outside as if they had returned to the top of that wheel
this is a method of having a weight fall so to speak from the top of the wheel and only returning to the axle to fall from the top again
this mechanism is like three links on one side of a scissors jack
it is like three links of the hammer men with one twisted half way around like that little twisty shirt he has on
it's kinda like three sections of a Jacob's ladder
and the articulated chain connects the weights so they don't fall to near the outer wheel
other thought is the articulated chain may have a spring inside to help pull the outer weight back in
the chain may also have three links
in MT138 Mr. Bessler said
