DEUTSCH x ENGLISCH

Post by murilo »

Hello you all, guys!

This is directed to some of you that have translations familiarities.

There is a dictionary named Muret - Sanders for german x english and vice-versa, gothic and current latin characteres.

The new edition costs some USD 955.00.

I have the hardcover XVII edition, from 1910. Yes! 1910!

They are complete, useable and interesting.

It's a library collection edition, but also very interesting for studies, since it was done in Germany, right before the 2 WW which they strongly colaborated with!

-Does this have a value - worthy?
-How to check it?
-May someone help me?

Notes: the covers will need some restauring. ( possible photos! )
In case of any business and effective help, this will be my chance to send some donation to the BW Forum!

Thanks a lot!
Best regards!

G'day Murilo,

I don't know if your copy is worth something or not. You would have to ask someone in the antique book business.

The interesting bit is that the original 1909 edition is available on DVD for around $50.00

Murilo - I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. Are you trying to find out what your book is worth and want to sell it? If so there is a good website for the buying and selling of antique books that you might find useful called AbeBooks... http://www.abebooks.com

Hans - great link many thanks. I've ordered myself a copy. It is a great book and so a searchable version on the computer will be very handy!

All the best

Stewart,
thanks a lot!
IF they have some important value, I'll try to sell them.
If not, I'll keep.
For normal use I have a nice and modern Langenscheidts, deutsche x portugiesisch.
Cheers!
Murilo
