Are You a builder?

Post by rlortie »

It appears that this forum and its new generation of members is become more of a home for armchair theorists who post pages of debate over issues of physics and related matters.

Where are the builders, those that actually test by hands on trial and error research? Members who believe that Bessler was not a fraud and attempt to build a machine using their own innovative resources, not necessarily attempting to duplicate Bessler's wheels other than the fact that it ran.

I would like to compile a list of those that actually get their hands dirty testing deigns. Here are examples of members on my starter list that I would like to add to. Most of these named are are already on my contact list.

ABHammer, Fletcher, Jim_Mich, underdog, mickegg, unbalanced, PStroud,
Turulato, Dave Roberts, James kelly. Patrick, Graham, Dusty (OverUnity). i-ron (OverUnity) Charlie (OverUnity) Larry C (OverUnity)

I apologize to any who feel they fit this category and were missed. Please let me know and you will be added.

Intent is to possibly gather on a sub- forum that avoids theoretical topics and could care less about e=mc2 or if gravity is faster than light.

I'm surpised you have omitted to mention me Ralph, I have always supported the fabrication of models in preference to simulations and armchair theorists. I have assembled countless stationary wheels and have become something of an expert on the subject. I hope to move on to the rotating ones this year.

I too have become a little concerned at the intensity of theoretical discussion which appears to inhabit realms undreamed of by Bessler. I have to admit I can't follow most of it.

John,

Gotcha! I feel somewhat adept after college schooling regarding 'mind imaging' often referred to in the older days as 'brain washing' as used by Russia in the early days of the cold war.

You were not overlooked, your name is on the list and intentionally omitted as I was hoping to get the response received to help kick off this thread, it worked!

I thank you and apologize for the ploy!

Now is there others out there that would rather spend their time discussing experiments and designs in the real world rather than reading post after post of irrelevant material, please let me know.

Let them dwell on this; If a chicken and a half can lay an egg and a half in a week and a half, how long does it take a tree frog to kick the dill out of a dill pickle? Makes about as much sense to me as a lot of what is being posted these days.

Surprised you missed me too, although I am not sure I care, I guess I don't usually post my failures. I just finished making a wheel on the design of MT 142 to prove it is a demonstration. Took me many months of analyzing MT's, hints, and codes to figure out what he was doing. I am a little at the surprised results, as it can be rotated 180 and reset itself, but only two mechanisms will work on one wheel. I will release it if it is a dead end and I am satisfied I have explored all avenues.

I have not seen or heard much of your work lately niether Ralph. Hows the running wheel coming?

At least the other armchair theorists post something to read ;)

So why don't you make your approach really interesting? Start a bet, whoever gets something going first.

John, I've just read your blog. What about Canada or all the other countries you left out?

Hello Ralph,

I've built upwards of 30 different prototypes over the past 5 years. When I originally started pursuing this goal my experiments revolved (no pun intended) around designs that utilized permanent magnets. After thoroughly flogging that horse for 2 years or so I decided that permanent magnet based designs were a dead end. It was around that time that I began experimenting with gravity powered designs.

For the longest time I would build whole designs from scratch. This was easy to do because I had an overhead CNC router at my disposal at my office at the time. I was the only one there who knew how to operate it so no one really ever asked any questions whenever I was doing personal work on it. This made it incredibly easy to design in AutoCAD, walk out to the shop and cut out the various pieces and parts of the design on the router.

About 6 months ago I quit that job in favor of a better paying, more interesting one. Unfortunately I don't have access to a CNC router anymore so I've had to employ some cruder techniques, utilizing a variety of jigs, etc. and just taking more time to lay stuff out by hand (reminds me of my college days). I built a test rig that can accommodate different designs by swapping out a few pieces and parts to do proof of concept tests. I actually have plans to make a new and improved test rig sometime in the next week or two. Hopefully this one will lead to some more fruitful results...

Regarding theoretical discussion: I agree that there is a point where discussion must end and actual physical tests must begin. Usually sooner rather than later BUT in the specific case of something like relativity, which has major implications as to the viability of our collective goal, it cannot be easily tested in someones garage or wood shop. I think there is value in such discussion but it is not and ends in it of itself. FWIW: I originally came to BesslerWheel.com precisely because of community of experienced builders and people who had actually done real world experimentation. It drives me crazy to hear fools like P-Motion over at Overunity.com go on and on about "the math the math!" when they have exactly ZERO real world results to prove their hypotheses.

Yes I am a builder.

Many hands on experiments and several complete wheel builds.

I only built one model and when that didn't work I concluded to build no more models, so I don't come near to being on your list. However my admiration goes out to those those who build machines first and am reminded that the US Patent Office will ONLY grant a PM patent on an application that includes that working model, which I think is the right way to go. More power to those who can be on your list.

Fair comment Michael. I meant no slur by omission. I just think that we have a pessimistic attitude to many different things here in the UK. Possibly it's to do with the weather.

You crafty old fox Ralph! I should have known you must have read my blog on this very subject.

LOL

Ralph
This is a very good string. When we build we get a better feel for what we are facing. Not to mention a little over optimism helps drive us on. Now what was that perspiration percentage again?

Ralph, Please explain what your " contact list " is and what is the purpose of said list?

I have forty two builds and no runner yet! I hope to one day change that.
I like the thread that you have started.

opps... thats MT 142 I was working on not 137. I am still of the opinion that MT 137 points to decoding.

I am also a builder. My wheel stand weighs about 350 lbs. A friend, at his welding shop had two 7ft. lengths of 4 by 8" rectangular tubing 1/4" thick. Needless to say I have a very stable base! LOL The shaft I use is 1 1/2" diameter. The bottom of the pillow block bearings is 7" wide and I wanted a rigid 8" wide platform to bolt them to. The largest wheel is 7 ft. in diameter. The smaller wheels are 4 ft. or smaller.
In the future I will lighten up the stand.

My initial reason for starting this thread is to bring to light the amount of discussion on this forum regarding hypothesis and very little talk of building. I am tiring of going online to download posts totally irrelevant to forum subject.

Due to the over all change I see here and other forums, a lot of members do no more than talk armchair theory and the use of simulation programs. the number is by far exceeding the blue collar 'doers'. I am considering inviting a few more 'builders' to join us keeping the topics and discussion on topic matters regarding actual builds.

My contact list is mainly made up of builders who I collaborate with by private mail. There are also people who's skills would come into play once a self-sustaining machine is verified such as: patent agents, marketing, legal and of course investor entrepreneurs.

Those on a certain forum by invite are also on said contact list. which you are aware of. It may be a sleeper at present but I hope to be instrumental in causing a big change in that very soon.

Purpose of list is to formulate a list of skilled people to expedite a runner into the market, form a company to manage it. then assist in ongoing research to improve it. Public relations will play a key roll in establishing the ground floor.

Once a runner is patented, anyone could come along and make an improvement putting you out of business. My goal is to always keep ahead by having an active 'skunk works' team researching ways to stay on of the competition.

Some will say I am putting the cart before the horse, But I often think of all the once prominent companies that are now defunct simply because they did not diversify there product and marketing to meet the changing times.

Fore- thought is better than hind-sight.
