A failed attempt at decoding the AA mystery

Post by genmurphy »

Hi,

I call the "AA mystery" the fact that there are two types of A in the MT drawings (see the book of John Collins: Maschinen Tractate).
Johann Bessler is sometimes using a normal A letter on some drawing and sometimes a A where the horizontal bar has a V shape.
Sometimes, the two types of A can appear on one drawing.

According to the book of John Collins, there are 141 or 143 drawing in the MT. Those two numbers have something in common, they are both the result of a multiply between two prime numbers:
143 = 13 x 11
141 = 3 x 47

So I have drawn matrix of 13 x 11, 11 x 13, 3 x 47 and 47 x 3 and put a black square if the corresponding drawing has a strange A symbol (with a V shape). It gives me the following drawings (see attachment).

I have also added 15 x 10 (because the first strange A comes on drawing 16, giving us a first line of white square) and 10 x 15 because we have 10 fingers. Those two last matrix are not square in shape anymore.

Anyway, it gives nothing. Miss...

Dear Genmurphy,
On my opinion there is no particular mystery within the A shape.
Just a way to make a corelation with the jack-scissor mechanism, perhaps used somewhere in one of the Bessler's design.
I cannot imagine why nobody though on this before, including myself? It is so simple!...

Sure, I totally agree with you about the meaning of the shape of the A. The problem is that this modified A appears from time to time in the drawings and I can not think that this is pure coincidence. The mystery for me is to understand why it appears "here" and not "there".
It is for me one of the biggest mystery of the MT.
