Maybe it should be.

Children can often see things that adults can't.

Like the king with no clothes for example.

Thank you, Frank. I think you stated that nicely.....yes Josh, sometimes from the mouths of babes (those who are younger), we can find knowledge we did not see through our eyes because of our time. We can become predictable as we get older.....and our science sometimes bears that out.

Be refreshing and not so judgemental. You have your personal issues and we probably have our own. Make this place different....it's about the wheel.

I feel I should post something in a thread named after me? So beapilot, I agree with the suggestion that young fresh minds might bring new ideas to an old and dusty subject which has had little innovative input until BW arrived. However the input into this forum has been nothing short of astounding and although it hasn't led to a solution yet....I am certain it will do.

And here I must thank Fletch and Bill for their input and for putting me on to the right path. It wasn't what they said so much as the questions they raised in my mind that turned on the light bulb in my head. I shall explain in detail when I have finished this latest reconstruction which I know seems to be taking for ever.

Hi John,

You take your time! Nothing good ever came out of rushing things. I have experienced that too many times in my job and know it can turn round and bite you in the ass.

I know only too well of things getting in the way of other things.

We're all routing for ya!

I did not realize how immature you are John. You have the same attitude as Jim and Ralph. Did you guys every learn to "be the good people" at your ages? What you guys are saying is pretty much unethical and encourages the young to follow. Learning to "be the good guys" will earn more respect from people who are ethical.

What if you do find a PM Machine? Will you continue your behavior the way you treat me towards the media? I assume you will have a hard time getting people to congratulate you.

John, I was thinking about your book but the way you treat me just turns me off and I lost passion in my interest in considering to purchase and read your book. I thought you were a good guy for your age with experience and more but really, I got it all wrong.

I usually never spoke to elder people like you guys who are just plain rude and inconsiderate towards the young like me. What makes you so different? What makes you a better person than me? Why can not you accept the type of people for who they are? Why make fun of them? Why not learn to be nice to everyone you meet?

Anyways, just some advice.

In an attempt to get this thread back on track, I would like to disclose the following;

John, I spent the last three and 1/2 days fighting problems with my wheel mechanism trying to find the best way to build it. Last evening an idea struck me after investing another $80.00 into material that I now do not need.

Moving on; Today I spent tooling up for the new procedure and managed to get one of eight fabricated and installed. It is working as it is supposed to, the remaining seven should come a little easier and faster now.

And for those interested in trivia, yes! it is going to create a scratching sound. No, I do not have a runner, all I am installing is the wickerbill that will turn the halfer-shaft. Seven more wickerbills and then I can move on to the halfer-shafts, and who knows, it may barely run with just one! I will not know until all eight units are installed and the wheel brought back into a balanced state.

Ralph,
Thanks for your contributions towards sharing your progress. Although this thread was designed to see Johns idea in progress. I am very happy to hear others though.
Again, thanks.

Hello Ralph

glad to hear your wickerbills(primemover) is figured out. Which of the mt's did you choose as the halfer shaft design for your wheel. A single or bidirectional type.

i'm machining my wicherbills tonight, only using five though. Still tossed up on which mt for the halfer shafts. I really want to toss that weight up swiftly you know.

I'd love to know if jim wants to share his progress.

Keep up the good work.

beapilot - There is childlike and childish. I must be showing my age, but I can't remember being as young as you are. Regardless, may I suggest you grow up or grow old.
