Talking of binocular vision I wonder if any members have noticed this weird effect. When I am tired I find that my visual picture, how shall I put it, vibrates. The nearest comparison is a tremolo in sound so I suppose the best word is trembles.

But when I cover one eye or the other the trembling ceases completely. It is as though the eyes are trying to co-ordinate their action and failing.

I 'spect there must be a word for this phenomena. Anyone come across it by any chance?

I have both age and astigmatism but it is the trembling aspect I'm interested in. It's as though the brain is switching rapidly between the images of the two eyes and interlacing them in some manner.

Grimer,

Having made many trips to a number of ophthalmologists and optometrists I have taken their advice. Your condition may be due to a vitamin deficiency.

I am a male of 69 years and one of my prescription drugs is two One A Day Vitamins for women.

Yes, I know, after a career in the civil service believing that PMS was a military acronym for 'Preventative Maintenance Scheduling' I now learn that it has other meanings! :-)

I tried discussing this with my wife but she apparently was aware of it, she said: 'Who gives a sh*t!
