Abstract from Popular Science magazine;
Be Careful of invention-marketing Websites; the U. S. Patent Office lists complaints about 60 such sites that make money by exploiting inventors. That said, some of the best help you can get is at your computer.
Here are four of the most useful (recommended) sites and various links on each via Google search engine.

Are those invention-Helper Orginizations worth it?

All invention promotion companies are scams. They will gladly take your money and promise you the Moon. Then they do very little except spend your money. There is a law saying that they MUST provide you with information about how successful they have been with past clients. In most every case their success rate is a very small fraction of one percent. Most people are more successful going it alone, which is also much easier on the wallet. There are a few invention help groups that are well worth joining. They don't ask for money (except for donations) and some are very helpful.

1. [invent]
2. Find class/subclass of your invention and do a patent search.
3. Find assignees of the same class/subclass
You now have companies that buy inventions like yours, available for free through the US Patent Office.
4. Obtain a patent pending on your own and/or
5. Write the companies you found and turn your invention into a product.
Or pay outrageous fees to have some company make the same attempts for you in your name.
