I would suggest you go to your nearest college bookstore and pick up a copy of the nys penal code . you will find it most interesting .
i suppose you could spend a million dollars arguing your case all the way to the supreme court and winning it at the federal level OR just pay the fine . it's your choice in the end . easier ta not shake it more than twice . and if ya do dont brag about it .

I'm aware of the various outdated laws that are still on the books. The only ones that concern me are the ones that are actually enforced. The Rockefeller drug laws come to mind. Even still, nothing even close to "every aspect of human activity" is controlled by either party.

perhaps it would be easier if you gave me a long list of what is not regulated at either the local , state , or federal level . surely i cant think of anything .

Erick, I might have used a bit of rhetorical hyperbole, but in general the Republicans want to control your personal life and the Democrats want to control your economic life. Put them together and what have you got...
