I wonder what kind of power this machine would generate if permanent magnets were used to replace what appear to be ferrous magnets. This seems like the sort of thing that could be easily reproduced and tested for verification (if of course you have the time which I unfortunately do not).

I hope that this is it, it works, it is harnassable, the magnets don't deplete before energy generated in enough to recover the cost of making them.

Just a small question: does the wear pattern on that thing appear consistent with a two year run time ?

It will be hard to determine whether or not the two years of consecutive runtime claim is true or false. I am not sure where there would be a wear pattern on it though. Where are the wear patterns on a clock?

As for the comment on the magnets: Permanent magnets are fairly permanent IE: it takes quite a long time for them to loose their magnetism as opposed to regular, ferrous magnets.

While I can see how power could be extracted from this setup I think the more exciting aspect of all of this is the idea that a working, magnetically based device can be constructed in which one magnet "actuates" another magnet to cause continuous movement.

It looks like there is wear on the slot where the plate moves up and down.

I think you are correct Jim, that looks like wear. However, it's wood or apears to be ( :) ) : a metal plate sliding up and down in a groove in wood over two years without constant lube will cause a lot more wear, tear and burn than that.

The wear on a watch or clock ? if you know where to look with the correct magnification, you'll see the wear OK. And a watch mech is made to be as frictionless as posible, everything s blanced, in perfect synch...

After so many years of false claims of working devices I am, as always, a skeptic, as are you are Nic. The only way that it can e known for sure is if the concept is replicated and tested. We shall see how the chips fall...

Hope springs Eternal in the human breast. I doubt if anyone hopes more than I do that this is the real deal. The guy has gone to some trouble to build this. A lot of the fittings have been made adjustable for optimization. This in itself means very little . Back in 1965 , I saw a set of divining rods being used by a Water Board Engineer. The rods were of finest chrome plated Brass with polished Boxwood handles and ball bearing mounts.The set fitted into a Mahogany case with brass fittings. But it was all still Bullshine . No dowsers have passed James Randi s tests. You can encrust a turd in diamonds , but it is still a turd. The only way we are going to know is if someone can replicate it . After 64 years on this planet I still do not understand the mentality of hoaxers , especially if they do not stand to make financial gain.
Yesterday I found a vid on youtube of some guy demonstrating how lead works as a magnetic shield . The only lead sheet I have is around my chimney . So there I am climbing up the roof with two magnets in my pocket I nearly fell... As you would expect it does not work .

Hi I think it is fantastic,

magnetic force is a conservative force and so is gravity! this will open the door for us all, and at last FE will be look at properly!

If it is a hoax then I will back the conspiracy theory, it does beg the question could anybody sit on some thing as big as this for two years? I could last a week tops!!!!

Good evening to all those who are staying in tonight .I have watched this vid about 20 times.There are a few things that look a bit suspicious, although they are not conclusive.
1 The pendulum suspension appears to be just a hole in the pendulum shaft with a bolt through it. No ball bearing . Bike hubs are 2 a penny.
2 The rocking arms at the top appear th rock on small cabinet hinges. No proper bearings here either .
3 Look how close the pendulum bob is to the base plate. Instinct would suggest more clearance in case alterations were needed. Clearance here is much closer than The gap between the bob and the sliding magnets mounted on plates that move up and down . Is this because the real reaction is between the bob and pulsed electro magnets hidden the base.
If I am wrong , and of course I hope I am , Then By using proper bearings, we might scrounge enough energy to light 1 or more LEDs
IMO the sliding plates could better move on the end of long horizontal swinging arms with ball bearing pivots.
@Trevor , A whole week ? for me , make that half an hour.

The truth is I suspect that thing is a hoax, in fact, let's be honest, I want it to be. Some other guy getting all the glory for PM ? No way, I want it to be me.

I want the limelight, the bread, the hordes of luscious bimbos, the Nobel prize. I want to be on TV and talk down condescendingly to leading scientists like they were backward 5 year olds. OK, I've had a few tonight.

Neptune, what the heck did you climb onto your roof for. You can't visualize the magnetic field in the middle of the night on a roof man. Magnetic, diamagnetic, amagnetic... You need lead and about twenty mags with a kg of metal filings to see anything :)

@Nicbordeaux , re roof climb . I guess , like you I had a few. Anyway I met this guy up there in a red cloak and white beard , and we had a interesting conversation about magnetic fields...
