@Nicbordeaux. Is not 2010 the year you
were going to demonstrate your perpetual seesaw with bike wheel attached [summer solstice as I recall] That in itself would for me make it the best year ever!
@ Raj . Yes we are all Nutters. But think of this . There are only 2 possible futures,
1 PM is discovered.
2 . Oil runs out and life as we know it ceases to exist .
The biggest nutters are those who believe we can continue to use oil at an increasing rate forever ,and belittle those who are at least trying to improve the situation.

Wel evaD, bully for you if you think my thread posting is of-topic; I don't, that's life. Someone wherever they be (the USA is not the only place on earth) blabs, he's letting it go: anyone can patent it. As to someone figuring out exactly what's going on, good for them. they'd be able to patent. But the initial "inventor" who blabbed would probably have a much better device up his sleeve which he could patent as an alternative and much more efficient device. And even if that were not the case and he got no kudos, he could well be quite happy with knowing that he got there first. Whatever, first guy to patent gets the bucks. A description of an idea in loose terms isn't proof of having built a working one, and that's what counts. If the US guy patented just in the states, you could patent elsewhere.
FunWithGravity2 wrote:Sorry to change the subject Nic but this is related, and your thread really belongs in OFF Topic anyway.

If someone in the US wants to file a patent on their wheel, but does NOT want to file patents in other countries. If the inventor keeps the information unpublished but blabs his big mouth enough to let other figure out what exactly is happening. Can the others if in another country get a patent on the same invention since no prior art would be available if the first US inventor did not disclose pictures of what they were doing. Or would they temporarily allow the patent in the foreign country until they saw a US inventor was first or would two different people get credit in 2 different countries and both have patents.

If you think you have an overunity device, think again, there is no such thing. You might just possibly have an unexpectedly efficient device. In which case you will be abducted by MIB and threatened by aliens.

Quite correct Neptune, I said 'till June, and a very simplified model running over just 90° from vertical, one stroke delivery only, not necessarily with bike wheel distribution. Anybody wants to pile abuse, please wait June ?

So the only thing that will happen in 2010 is a working gravity motor
A contradiction in terms. So, what are your true thoughts Nic?

Do you think we are all wasting our time, or do you believe that a breakthrough is imminent?

Just interested.

Nothing will emerge from the "normal" world. However, the fringe I think will produce something. And no, not the fringe that deals in zero point Tesla energy or alien technology transfer. Just some nutter with a wheel, a seesaw, a 500 kg bouncy ball on the end of a bungee strap, that sort.

We may be bessler wheel nutters, but no one in his right mind, will blab about his dear worldbeater idea on his forum or anywhere else, BEFORE making sure that his idea is well safe-guarded.
Wouldn't you all agree, that we are not so foolish?

Nic, it seems this exact same thought must have entered the mind of every PM enthusiast at some point :D

OK! Who told the forum about my latest attempt?

If John Collins (or someone else) doesn't reveal the answer soon or in fact not have the answer, will most of us admit defeat, give up and build wooden toys to give to kids in need or something like that?! At least something more productive! When I build something I want to use it or sell it. With these damn wheels, I build and then just throw the whole design away and move on. A non reward scenario!

How long can we persevere with this?

I am actually quite addicted to this quest which is a problem. I read practically all the posts. Hoping for a glimmer of promise.
C'mon John, let us have it. Patience is running thin!

Hi Damien .. saw a couple of cool instructional videos on YouTube on 'how to build a wooden hanging weight clock' - particularly good was the one by an Aussie guy - I think I might build something like that this year & get some satisfaction from my efforts & use some machinery - the guy seemed really calm & centered, better than meditation & then there's always the hypnotic tick tock of the slow moving pendulum to watch for hours :7)

Seriously, have a look at the vids as some inspiration of what can be done with wood.
