The crop circles apparently were already existing at the time of Bessler, as explained in this URL:

Even it is today obvious that almost of these crop circles have been made by human fakers, a small amount of them still remain unworkable with human methods and in this level of accuracy. If it's really from an external origin what message it could be?

Most unexplainable crop circles are made by people doing immoral things in other people's fields. Not to boast but as a younger male, I can claim to have made a few crop circles back in the day.

If it's aliens, they must be real lo-tec dumb that they have to trample our corn to try and communicate. If I was an alien with a message I'd remove a few places with the cosmic ray gun, then ask for people to listen to the message or I wipe out something really big.
