I have a granddaughter that just turned two years old last month. Her Mom found out last week that she knows every letter of the alphabet. Her Grandmother wrote each letter of the alphabet on a separate piece of colored construction paper and was going to start teaching her the alphabet. But, surprise, the little girl already knew all the letters! Her only error is being unable to mouth the difference between "N" and "M". Maybe she watches too much "educational" children's TV?
This is not usual, as you may guess.
The reasons may be natural or 'forced' by others.
As a girl, the verbal skills must be also great! :)
Anyhow, all this is cute, odd and awesome!
Congrats!!!
Cheers.

PS: as I have seen, the risks in the case would be a too high valuation of intelligence in detrimental of other tender human qualities.
I once asked a school teacher if she knew why the alphabet was made up in the order that it is in? She thought for a bit and replied that no she could not answer that question.
I explained to her it is because of that song children sing, you know the one that goes; abcdefg......... :-)
Sounds early Jim, verbally precocious kids usually know the alphabet at 3 to 3-1/2 . Maybe you could check if she can count too. That would be a sign of high IQ. Just as long as you don't let her start posting here till she's 5 ?
Nic, she knows her numbers and can count from one to ten.
Her six year old brother has been using the computer for two year now, since age four. He navigates to certain children's websites to play their games.
