I understand your point Trevor. We have had many discussions here on this forum about this before and I have my own opinion as you have yours. Good luck with your project.

dear Trevor Lyn Whatford,
Congratulation for improving the income of the patent office.
You forget an important point: any improvement can justify a request for a new patent.
And in addition your patent will be contested for a lot of good reasons: I don't speak about the 'last minute' inventors you will be obliged to counterfight, but almost in particular the use in your principle of ideas, drawings, etc previously published in the public domain.
In the past I was a patent owner (a got money for several years), I know well the question.
Now, you can think about for one year, or give for nothing millions of dollars (the amount of duties for all countries in the world during the 20 years), or spend all the rest of your live fighting on the Court and feeding a cattle of lawyers, that's your right.
In addition think at the chinese: they don't care of your paper.
The only solution is to publish everything from everybody, in view to avoid the deposit of any kind of patent. Internet will be in charge to do that in few minutes all over the planet.
I cannot imagine why nobody though on this before, including myself? It is so simple!...

You know what is tough?
Having designs that that show from pre-testing to most likely be runners (but we never say for sure until proved by the build) And have hardly not time to build. Because you work hard every day and you seems to never get ahead enough financially to be able to pursue it. But you squeak in a little here and a little there and you finally have one wheel of the newer design, but you need to finish the final reaction parts and it is near running already. A 6 ft device that accelerates with just a slight touch of your pinkie finger. The nerves become on edge and you can't get to it because you have more bills to pay.

It kind of makes me feel I am in a hamster wheel and I am the only hamster.

I remember you work with metal parts.. Wouldn't you be able to recycle old wheel designs!? ..

I know what I'm saying is excessively trivial.. ;)

LIB

Not for this projects. Totally new concept, totally new parts. My new shop is allowing more time but I had the iron work project to do and until it is done it is eating up most my spare time.

Here a photo of the iron work, 3 of the 5 openings. I still have the front door gate to finish one of the openings is not shown but it is the same.

Very nice !

You are actually in the same line of work of my father..
I know how demanding it is to own a business like that..

But I believe it is quite worth it when you can show your friends the hard work you've put into it, most importantly, your own satisfaction!

LOL
MY business is making medieval armor for rein-actors. But after building this it could very well at least be an addition to my armor. But I would rather build wheels!

PS. this is my first ironwork cage for a building. I had a few things to learn for mounting.

True! I thought you were doing metalwork in general! Sorry..

Anyways, your work is nice and respectable, that's a good thing! 8]

Thanks LIB

I will be getting the final effect parts done for my device shortly and when they are done, I think it will run. I also have another test to finish for one of our members here. Then I have several more wheels to finish the build. I also tend to build parts when I get a spare moment.

Hi All,

If any member of BW.com discovered the 'right principle'....he would be totally on his own.

Unfortunately BW.com is a forum and not a legally authoritative organisation which could provide public backup and be supportive to any claims on behalf of the members.
BW.com doesn't have an ellected directory board; have no processes agreed upon (for publication/announcement issues); have no officially appointed spokesman; and have absolutely no legal responsability to anyone, members or not members.

BW.com have the knowledge and experience to do something about it - AND to be taken serious.

If we don't, then we are all still on our own.

Just my humble opinion.

Ruggero ;-)

Did you know that the catapult was invented to make shore that your cat would aways crap in other people gardens! not many people know this.

Thanks Daxwc, Regards Trover

Edit, Cheers Daxwc, I used the spell check now look at my name, you should see what its done to yours Mr N.O. Suggestions!

Hi Path_finder,

I now use the Patent system just for the recorded date of my invention.

People may improve on your Patent but may not build on your invention without your permission and if it is written into to your patent that all known technology can be applied to your invention this would just about cover it.

You are not forced to fight your patent in court you can send a letter stating that you believe that it is your property and if they use it that you reserve the right to compensation at any time in the future.

Regards Trevor

Dear Trevor Lyn Whatford,
you said

Where do you find this? Perhaps just valuable in UK?
If you got a new patent you got at the same time all the related rights for.
How can you describe all possible variations of your idea, without to fall in the tautology?
Keep the truth in face, there is no patent possible for this kind of invention (only this).

They all are clear for me. Reset your system and try again.
