Has anyone seen this movie with William H. Macy where he invents a free energy machine that uses water and is powered by the earth (or so says his character in the show)?

Here's one link to the movie;
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105788/
Basically he devolopes a machine that uses water in his spare time at home from equipment he "borrowed" from work. It produces electricity I think, it's been a while since I've seen it. He later tells someone that its secret is it runs from the power of the earth. The oil companies want to prevent its publicity and... you might guess the rest. Not a bad movie but definately plays up the paranioa theme.
