My craziest idea so far:)
What would happen if one were able to construct a circular tube that goes around the whole earth, then fill it with water ,would the water move?:)
Anyone willing to invest in such a feat?

...at the equator, where the circumference of the earth is greatest, the speed is about 1,038 miles per hour (1,670 kph).
This will be the speed of the tube.
What about the water inside the tube: Will it follow the tube?

ruggero ;-)

hi, i agree it is a crazy question, if you really want the answer to this then study victor shouberger, sorry about the spelling,he was responsible for a log flume that wound through the forest with flutes in the sides to spin the water and cool it to increase its density, so it could lift the logs and move them through the forest and actually get the water to move up hill, over a couple of miles or so, the key to getting movement, is the direction the water is traveling ,in this case i believe it was north south, another very important factor is the temperature variations in its journey and its protection from direct sunlight. So in my humble opinion it will work, building it is another question . Callum coates followed Victors work you may find this research interesting ,i did.All the best Andy.

Dear Andy,
Even though Victor Schauberger was a genious and the water wizard, he never made water flow uphill over a mile.
What he did was making a water vortex PM machine ... also he invented the implosion flying pan ;-)

Is there someone that have the answer for this crazy scheme?
Or do we need to build a model too see ?

Hi!
I remember that in very old futurist Walt Disney matters, they supposed that if water, or another liquid, would be let free inside a space nave, the liquid was going to cover all inside surface of the nave as an uniform thin film.
They got good reasons to this guessing but they forgot the liquid natural cohesion of ''particles'' - cohesion is the attraction between similars.
Today is normal to see astronauts jogging with pure water globes floating in hands; note that this water try to behave as a stable ''single massive body''.
So, I thing that your water will be be static inside the tube, also in reason of the friction to the tube walls, except maybe if you brake all system in very short time! :)
''Please, don't try this at your planet home!''
Best!

You should stick little turbines in the tube to harness the energy when the water moves due to moon/tidal influences :)

re: My craziest ideea so far:)
IMHO it's not necessary to make the turn of the earth. A curved tube of 1km could be sufficient if you put a turbine at the correct end and continue to fill up the other end with some water. The wind (and mass of water, the clouds) are running around the earth from west to east for the same reason.
Another interesting application could be to refill the lost seas, like the central saharian sea for the improvement of the agricultural surfaces. But there is another way still available: the siphonage, wich could be used for refill the Dead Sea with the water coming from the red sea. There is some studies today in progress by the world Bank for that project. But if there is no progress for project where the physical principe is certified, I don't think any other project based on not proved principe could be accepted.

I cannot imagine why nobody though on this before, including myself? It is so simple!...
re: My craziest ideea so far:)
hi, never meant to imply the water rose a mile, it apparently caused the water to rise a small number of feet over the distance of a mile or so, it's been a long time since i've looked at Victor's work. Again apparently he proved that a river running north south some where in Europe, yet again rose a small number of feet ,i am a bit of a romantic regarding Victor, but i remember what i read, i just never did the research to confirm what i had read i just felt it was the truth may be it was may be it was not ,i believe it is possible. Oh yes u forgot to mention his amazing work on his repulsine, which restructured water to that of spring water and only showed a certain percentage of its weight once consumed by human or animals, what Victor discovered is that every thing is about spin ironic ha .All the bets sir just trying to help and share, keep up the good work.
