Post by scott »

Using force is always part of the problem, not the solution.

Yet force in nature appears the solution to separating weak from strong?

Unless you force the top off a beer bottle. Then that is the solution!

Force in the mechanical sense - or more specifically stress - is merely an alias for an unacknowledged strain.

I realised this very early in my career when I was determining the full stress strain curve for concrete, i.e. the curve beyond maximum stress.

Seeing the rest of the replies to Scotty I can see that Off Topic is not the place to get serious. Image

Hi scott,

force is part of the problem it is also the solution, just as long as the paid for force is less than the force you gain in return, the force of gravity and some clever mechanics is the solution.

Hi DrWhat, it takes the same energy to put the top on as it does to take it off, but if in the interest of science enough tops are removed then who gives a Fffffgot what I was gona say : )

Regards Trevor
