Hi Scott

I'm getting the following error every time I update a page on the wiki:

Code: Select all

A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

    (SQL query hidden)

from within function "SearchMySQL4::update". MySQL returned error "145: Table './srellis_bessler/wiki_searchindex' is marked as crashed and should be repaired (localhost)".

...could you have a look please and see if you can fix it? Thanks...

Sorry Stewart, the wiki is so overrun with spam I had to disable all updates, and now the table has crashed. I will deal with it when I can but no promises. Please feel free to remind me.

Hi Scott - thanks for the reply. It's not a major problem - I can still update the pages, but just get that error after it's updated. I'm not sure if the wiki gets looked at much - I didn't get any feedback on my edition of the documents page to it, so I'm left wondering whether it's worth doing anything further on there. I believe the wiki is a very good repository of accurate updated information & that it is looked at & quoted often as a base resource - Scott mentioned quite a while ago that it was overloaded with spam & that he had shut down the ability to update/edit it, so if like me, many have not attempted to edit it for perhaps a year or longer.

So I'm surprised & pleased Stewart that you were able to as I hadn't expected that you'd be able.

I have access to the Wiki only in reading mode.
No way to edit anything.

The cookies are enabled. The link at the top right loops on the same error.

Ok, thanks guys - I wasn't sure if the Wiki was reliable or safe to use after Scott's comments, but I'll carry on with it now I know that it's ok and people are using it. I've been keeping a back-up of the wiki markup code I've created for that page anyway so that if anything happens I can just put it back.

I thought I disabled editing and adding new pages but I guess not for everyone. In any case there are hundreds of spam pages on it and no easy way to remove them that I can find. If someone wants to help out I'd be very grateful.

Path Finder, you need to create a new account on the wiki using the same name you use on the forum (path_finder). The wiki does not use the same login mechanism as phpbb.

It is exactly what I tried to do with NO success..
I suspect the underscore may be not supported in this part of the software.
