I agree about the expression "smart pendulum" ,regarding the possibility to imagine,in the most simple manner a gravity motor:

-smart:brisk(active,lively,sharp),clever,witty...
-pendulum:"suspended" mass/weight

The Earth is "suspended" to Sun.

The Moon is "suspended" to Earth.

The meaning,significance of pendulum word can be much more larger than that of a regulator for a mechanical clock...
