Damian

Thanks for posting the Peter Lindemann build. I have been with Ralph on that one and discussed it over at OU. I see it did exactly as expected.

The guy said it ran for 4 days that close to the beach. It looks more like a swinging weight flywheel and the sea breeze could prolong it's spinning. I am kind of surprised it hasn't been sold as scrap now days.

The fellow in that video said the inventor was one Gudgel but I believe it was a fellow by the name of Charles Edmund Spurlock

Here is what I have turned up:

It is behind the post office in Planada, CA which is on Hwy 99 between Fresno and Turlock, 87.38 miles from the nearest ocean. You can Google Earth Planada, Ca and look for the triangular park on Santa Fe Ave and then go to Street View and check out this Ezekiel Wheel.

Amazing that no one else has brought this to the attention of the group before.

Must restore this thing. It winds my clock ten to one over the Heathen or Pop Keaney wheel in AZ.

Now if this isn't a typical story, I don't know what is...

Here's a very successful lumberman who drops everything to construct a twenty four foot diameter wheel as his business and relationships fall apart.

Sixteen weights of 94-pounds each. The video suggests they are all still intact and on the wheel.

This thing may be nearly complete. It is interesting to see how he grouped his weights around the wheel and how the one between 4:00 and 5:00 is inverted.

Here's a news piece from the Los Angeles Times on Charlie Spurlock's Ezekiel Wheel. You have to scroll down a bit for the full story.

Seems it never ran... go figure!!!
