Hi all,

Balance is the secret and there is good leverage at work.

Mark...thanks for that; Wow!
where man meets science and god meets man never the twain shall meet...till god and man and science sit at gods great judgement seat..a tribute to Bessler....kipling I think

I cannot imagine why nobody though on this before, including myself? It is so simple!...

I posted a comment on it, I built a similar wheel a while back, this sort of linkage is good for balancing forces, but not quite as good as many, the middle connection stops it from rotating, and without it the levers move to straight down and stop, mine had a large free pivoting centre lever lifting outside levers, leverage checking leverage, very easy to turn though, what you need is leverage checking generator torque while still easy to rotate.

I like the bit when he says "It did not work very well."

I would love something that did not work very well.

I suspect he meant that it did not work at all. Image

At the end of the video he briefly mentions that it is slowing down because the small batteries are going flat.

The batteries are a small bunch slightly to the right of the motor when the camera is behind him.

He states that gravity works for 2/3 of the wheel's motion and that the motor kicks in for the last 1/3 to get the weight past 12 o'clock.

Poor chap;. He's obviously put a lot of work into that, too.

That summarizes gravity wheels working on an OB principle. They will rotate 7/8 of a turn (rather than 2/3) so a mild kick at "11" is all that is needed to achieve a full turn . Unfortunately, that mising 1/8 th is constant : whatever rpm you run your device at, it will still be 1/8 short of unity. rev it to 100 000 rpm and it will decrease in speed at a rate corresponding to that missing fraction. At no point does CF or "zero point rubbish" appear and change that basic fact. OK, I've only tested to about 500 rpm. If anybody has enough time, funds and a bunker, plus the fastest frame per second rate on earth they could run these tests, results would be the same. Flywheels which run for days ? Just better engineered, more of a turn than the sort of OB "bicycle wheel" most of us use.

Actually, I am assuming that increase in rpm is equal to decrease in rpm in both terms of time and energy, haven't checked it, but if there is a difference and somebody could explain the reason (preferably coherently) , I'd be extremely interested.

Edit : I see, Frank, that you have changed your avatar, and assume that as the characters depicted appear to be the Virgin Mary, and baby Jesus, you are identifying with one of them. That would be the virgin mother one assumes ? Lemme think... Immaculate conception... and you say you won't build... therefore you are expecting a fatherless PM machine to appear ?

No - and though my last avatar was Bomber Harris I wasn't expecting to bomb Dresden either.

On the website you are trolling it says:

"Please feel free to give us feedback, ideas, suggestions, and helpful hints. We want to be your favorite shopping experience for a lifetime, so we welcome your comments. Send your thoughts to support@amykidsshop.com"

Well here's my thoughts. Your trolling is counter-productive and just gets member's back's up.

On the other hand if you are a competitor who is trying to damage the image and reputation of "amykidsshop" , you are certainly going the right way about it.

A polish invention: this mechanical device allows the multiplication of the rotation speed and an OverUnity of 140%
see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4ZP7uxhz1A
I don't speak polish but I'm very patient: please wait until 04:15
