Working Overseas
I'm 46 and up until a month ago I had never left the borders of my country. I took a job working in the Albanian oil feilds. When I accepted the job, I thought I was going to Africa lol. The weather in central Europe is great, and the food is awsome. Learning a new language at my age is proving to be a bit of a challange, but I'll get there. I plan on taking a little time in the spring to go see Aldo Costa's wheel, and maybe poke around Germany a bit, see some of the Bessler landmarks. I dont have much time to build these days, but I try to read everything posted on this site. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to my build soon.

re: Working Overseas
Dear getterdone,
Contact me before, and if I'm here at that moment, we will go together for a visit of Aldo Costa's wheel (about 50 miles from Paris)

I cannot imagine why nobody though on this before, including myself? It is so simple!...

the way you write and describe make me feel that possibly you'll reach the straight way to travel abroad.
To know other countries, their people, culture, language, nature, food, etc is a worthy and refined kind of ART!
You have to let home and beloved back in your country and adopt a step land, for a while. Priceless!
Enjoy!

Well Nic, maybe it's just luck, but for my first hitch I found that everyome was very nice, even the street vendor that charged me 11 dollars for a can of coke lol. Its good to work in a country were it's safe to walk the streets alone at night. There's a pub just a few blocks from the villa were Im staying, The like the Italian beer Peroni.
It's hard to beleive that Albania is 80% muslim, to me it seems like the people are the same as they would be in any other country

Leo,
Are you running a boiler in Albania? LOL! How is the patch over there compared to here?
Who are you with and what are you doing?

Hi nneba, I work for Simmons, they do the drillimg and production. The work on my end is easy, the rigs have full crews, I just have to overlook the operation and fill out paper work. There's another company that secured the rights for the deeper zones, they're called Petro Manas. If you play the market keep an eye on this stock, last time I checked they were trading for 13cents a share. The old Albanians that have been working those feilds for decades say that the oil in the deeper zones is so light and clean you can wash your hands in it.

Well,
Good luck out there bro.
Here is a slide show of "safety in Albania" this was given to me by a friend. Is this what you are dealing with?
Also, If you are in need of a safety hand...let me know!

Yup , that's the place where I work. It doesnt take long to figure out why communism failed, when you see stuff like that. About half of the 2500 derricks have been recycled, and about half of the enviromental disaster has been cleaned up. It's one heck of a mess. We have more modern equipement to work with also, I think we still have the same garbage man tho lol
