There is a new post on PESWIKI today's headline news about a free energy gravity chain drive machine. It is supposed to be open sourced and the guy tells Sterling they have several replicas and advanced models.

Personally, I think this is a joke / scam. We have seen many of simlar designs over the centuries and in the history of unworkable PM devices. If the guy really had it working and was open sourcing it, there would be a video / real picture.

This is obviously Murilo's avalanche drive,. And we know that Murilo keeps claiming that it works. And we know that Murilo attempted to build it, but so far has not been able to get it to work. And we know why it doesn't work. But of course Murilo will claim otherwise. Anyone that doesn't understand why this will not work might think that because it obviously 'looks' like it should work they might just assume that it does actually work.

Jim, I don't think Murilo claims that it actually works, rather he claims that no one can prove to him that it won't work. Therefore Murilo can only prove to himself why it can't work, but I don't think that's what he wants. I think Murilo is blinded by sweet, sweet love... until death do they part :)

I have stared at this design time and time again and it looks impressive, but what I think lets this concept down is the strut that magically appears and disappears to keep the ascending weights spaced.

I can't envisage how this could be set up.

Murilo solved that part nicely. At the bottom imagine the link pivots from its leading right hand side and gravity causes it to fall/drop down thus latching the weights into their expanded spacing. Then at the top gravity again causes the link to fall down but this time it unlatches and lets the weight move closer together as they fall on the left side.

(I could have spend maybe another five or six hours to write additional visual basic code to animate/draw the link in the unlatched position, but it would have made the drawing more complex.)

Maybe like with the Avalanche drive we could have a category for "Working Overunity gif. shows 10 x OU !!!" That would beat that Sterling wossisname site by a mile. 100 000 hits a day.

If there is a separate track that moves faster it can push a weight up by the triangle. It probably won't work just sharing how I see it could be improved.

The 'inventor/businessman' sure made some claims that Sterling has quoted.

Now Sterling wants some 'independent' verification/opinion of claims about a related concept.

I always find these "impossible" devices interesting.

How to simply explain why they won't work in terms that people will easily grasp is always a bit of a challenge.

It seems to me that the two sides are equivalent to two tubes of fluid of different width. Without any need to go into the maths of the situation common experience tells us that the water in the fatter tube will not push up the water in the thinner tube.

The .gif in the first post makes the difference in width of the two tubes even more apparent.

I hopes this helps Murilo but I doubt if it will. I have every sympathy with him since I sometimes suffer from the same syndrome myself.

Those communicant tubes with liquid don't fit the right model for the project.

The pressure of a liquid column is equally distributed all around, in all directions, while a free solid column offers the possibility of a punctual apply.

My scars have scars... at least 50% of my armature's weight is due to pure welding... eventually holes in this armature are welcome for some ventilation...
