A Motion Machine

re: A Motion Machine
Mark,
IMO it does not necessarily have to be pointed at Ezekiel's wheel. It is the word 'Proverb' that for some reason after all these years caught my attention.
First I confirmed the meaning of 'proverb' as meaning something religious or Biblical. A Google search of proverb and wheel brought up the information I posted above plus a lot more!
You can see that interpretations differ and some can be compared to other Bessler statement and alleged clues.
Its basically another 'take it for what its worth' input.

What is a proverb? A proverb is a short well-known expression that states a general truth or gives advice.
What is a saying? A saying is a well-known expression, or a remark often made, also known as a proverb.
Exodus 15:22-27 LESSONS LEARNED AT LIFE'S BITTER POOLS
Intro: Very often learning lessons is a bitter experience. Yet, while this is true, it is also true that experience is the best teacher.
You can tell a child repeatedly that fire, the stove, etc is hot, but they never really get it until they have been burned. When this happens, they can relate to what hot means. It is a lesson they will never forget as long as they live, but it was a bitter lesson to have to learn.
Unfortunately, we all seem to possess this same characteristic. We have to be burned before we can learn!

Thanks, Ralph. When I first read that post I was a little perplexed. I recognized the text describing Ezekiel's vision, but couldn't figure the connection to the particular "old proverb" that Bessler was referring to.
At least now I understand why you posted it. Was beginning to think you were losin' it. :D
Fletcher, I didn't have to learn "hot stove" first hand. My dumbass older brother grabbed a pot one day (the old kind, metal pan with a metal handle) without a potholder. Hearing him holler and seeing the bright red imprint on his hand was good enough for me!

Mark, you also learned through experience. You actually saw what happened to your brother when something was hot.Mark wrote:I didn't have to learn "hot stove" first hand. I do not know if there is a biblical proverb to match the proverb Bessler was discussing. The Bible is not an exclusive source for all proverbs.

Jim,
No, no, no, don't pin that one on me! That was Ralph that brought Biblical into it. :D
Yes, it's true. I learned from the experience. But when making Mental Notes To Self, there's a difference between Never do that again, and Don't ever do that. In that instance it also meant the difference between crying and laughing. Not that he didn't sock me for it later.

Change of Subject.......I'm curious to know when John Collin's will reveal his "Bessler"wheel,if i rem.correctly its to coincide with the 300th anniversary,i hope he is successful after putting much time, effort and money into the venture.....to me personally he deserves credit as does most of the members here who participate in constructive and intelligent input .....so will he succeed where so many of us and others have failed...what do you think?

Probably true Bill. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
I dont know what Bessler did but I am building a perpetual pendulum.
So very very simple on paper.
PITA in the shop though. Hopefully another week or two and have a video to post. Wish me good luck.

Not knowing is not the problem. It is the knowing of what just isn't so.

Doesn't have a chance. Ive never thought his actions were conducive to creating a wheel. Talks of having a "builder" which is like having someone else sleep with your wife for you. Your not going to get much out of it if your not involved.rasselasss wrote:Change of Subject.......I'm curious to know when John Collin's will reveal his "Bessler"wheel,if i rem.correctly its to coincide with the 300th anniversary,i hope he is successful after putting much time, effort and money into the venture.....to me personally he deserves credit as does most of the members here who participate in constructive and intelligent input .....so will he succeed where so many of us and others have failed...what do you think?
