The above two diagrams better illustrate the moment before and the moment after the the set of 4 crossbars shift from the ascending side to the descending. See purple selections where the spring weights latch and unlatch between the yellow weights and stork's bill. Note there are now 2 springs involved in this action, unlike the earlier diagrams that I believe incorrectly showed only 1 spring. This follows as 2 springs and their blue weights begin latching around 6:00 (AP metaphor of the seer/beholder), and because the 4 crossbars later shift in unison these springs have to unlatch more or less the same time.

Once the springs uncoil they strike levers 1 and 2 causing the outer segments to swing out. I imagine that the swinging levers depict a couple of waving fingers. Could this explain the AP line of the observer beckoning with the fingers? (A person naturally waves back when he/she is greeted with a hand wave or vice versa.) These levers also look like a pair of moving legs (AP metaphor of the runner).

Finally I re-arranged the 4 crossbars of each set. Take note of their orientation. I feel this is more reflective of the positioning of the pair of hammermen C and D of the Toys Page. Other crossbar orientations should be considered to determine the optimum configuration. Not drawn to accuracy.

Following my last post I updated the diagrams of the $the☯ne¢ concept and added a few more. Not drawn to accuracy.

I updated the Parts List so that it now shows the correct orientation of the lever and especially the blade spring when mounted onto the swivel arms.
