Ovvyus,

Thanks for bolstering my belief that this site is run by a tight little clique of PM'sters.

Who RAN to who? Scott to you, or you to him?

I knew Scott has access to all the account data.

None has addressed my main question....is information being withheld until all avenues of discovery are exhausted...?

or Robert as implied or what ever.

With the exception of those wishing to give all to the world without compensation, it is common practice to refrain from passing on all of ones ideas thought to be fruitful. When failure is eminent then the design features are revealed.

It is quite apparent that John C. has not yet reached a deadline of revealing his path of pursuit. If you, as accustomed wish to call my statement, blowing the brown nose horn, I consider the source and forget it. I do not believe that John would agree with your statement that I brown nose him. I rebuke and debate his input the same as any other forum members.

Seems as though I remember a picture of a wheel where the poster made it perfectly clear he was hiding the alleged working side from view. Now I wonder who that was.:o)

I'm not the one writing books on the subject as an authority.

BTW, HOW DO WE KNOW THE PEG WAS NOT REAL? Are we being shooed away from considering it by those more in the know?

Robert, an honest person of integrity wouldn't have to sneak about and lie to their fellow researchers. I think you might find that it is you who is withholding information. However, to directly address your question about other people holding back information, it's already been clearly stated that much trouble and expense (and some risk I might add) has been gone to in order to get everything possible out into the public arena, even to help ungratefuls like you.

While I think of it, anyone can look up your IP to see it is you posting - and they can do it all on their own without any 'clique' help from Scott - lol

Interesting that you think it's so clever and funny trying to deceive everyone with you comment about participating in the previous peg discussion. So you were just wasting everyone's time then. I think it's pretty lame that you have such a lack of regard for the community yet you obviously can't stay away.

I'd also like to point out the obvious fact that your self proclaimed strong Christian faith seems to be at odds with your demonstrated actions (lying and deceiving) - but we should take that subject to the Off-Topic area where we can explore it more completely without creating too much offense. As a student of the 'human condition' I for one find it interesting how those with fanatical outspoken religious conviction tend to be better at the talk than the walk - maybe there's a connection? Care for a little chat about it, perhaps I've got it all wrong again?

Isn't it implied in the terms of use agreement that it's inappropriate for an individual to have more than one account here - I guess that's to prevent deception and/or fraud. Now that it's clear that "Torque Seeker" and " rks1878" are the same person - what is to be done with these accounts? Delete them both and put a block on those IP's? Delete one or the other? Maybe encourage multiple accounts for everyone? That's Scott's decision. I'm sure you would have really gotten a kick out of having double the voting power, Robert - what a pity 2 x zero = zero - lol

The problem of blocking certain IP addresses is some people (like myself using dialup) have dynamic IP addresses that change with each connection. Anyone from my area using the same internet provider will draw from the same pool of addresses. I'm sure Scott is aware of this.

True Jim, I understand that - but an IP search on these two accounts doesn't bring up anyone else's IP. Anyway, it's not my decision and Scott is well capable of sorting it out.

Hey Rob....I admit, I did not follow your thread all that closely. Not that I wan't interested...I was...I've just been real busy.

I was looking to see WTF happened. I really can't see anything that would have caused you to go this far overboard...other than the "rep" bar thing. Reading through the thread I would never have thought that crap like that would make you go this far out. I mean, you seemed confident about your knowledge and approach and competent to build the dang thing and there were many supporters...I just don't get it!

Go back to your thread...munch a little humble pie and stick with the people who supported you. I think you have good knowledge and input, just a little crotchety sometimes...Hey, I can deal with that. Just don't go "evil twin" on me, Bud.

Steve,

I agree with your above post. Robert started out strong on this forum and appeared to have a level empirical mind as well as a respectful attitude.

Being the one who caught the worse of his flack makes me wonder. Did he get so involved, he turned to drugs to stay active in wheel research as well as meet his professional commitments. That is the impression I formed some time back. If this is the case, I feel for his cleints.

I told him then and I say it again, even after his accusations, I am a forgiving person and my respect is always there to earn but I will not give it away.

Otto or Robert or whatever your name currently is - you asked if I know of other clues/ details about Bessler's wheel that you haven't told us about, hoping to discover the principle myself first? No I don't know of other clues/details that I haven't told anyone about, but I have deciphered some of the clues that we all know about. And yes I am keeping them back for a short while to see if they can help me build the Bessler wheel first.

Your sarcastic reference to someone writing books on the subject as an authority was, presumably sideswipe at me - I don't know why. I wrote a book on Bessler because I thought that my research needed to be published and there had been nothing new about Bessler since Gould's book written in the 1930s. I ignore Frank Edwards' book since it was all culled from Gould, apart from the piece about the pegs

You say I'm an authority - thank you -I don't believe I ever claimed to be such, although it seems as if I might be - as would anyone who researched a subject thoroughly.

John...

Well, I certainly do consider you the world's leading "authority" on Bessler's life and work. I'm also sure that most of the people here have reached conclusions derived from the "clues" given in the Bessler literature that they are are not freely sharing with everybody. I guess that's all part of human nature. Everybody wants to have an advantage in any pursuit if they can get one. I'm probably one of the few here that blabs my every thought about Bessler's wheels and I'm sure that many may think I'm making a big mistake in doing so. I've thought the matter over for some time now and believe that, although such revelations might eventually cause me a personal financial loss of some sort, to not make them might cause an even greater loss to the field of Bessler research. Unfortunately, the vast majority of my interpretations of what the Bessler clues meant have, so far, not been accurate or led to anything useful. Hopefully, some are and can, eventually, lead to that sorely needed breakthrough this field requires.

Otto (Robert)...

As I remember, you left because your rep bar rating went down. If so, then you might actually have allowed the opinion of a single person to persuade you that the majority here did not appreciate your input. Well, if I had left each time my rep bar went down, then I would have left about a half dozen times so far!

I hope that you will return with your original identity and continue to post about your work on your design for a gravity wheel. We need "active" builders here who can share their experiences with other active builders. I think that you will find that if your design turns into a non-runner and you decide to share some of the details of what you are trying to achieve, then you will find that the majority of members here will go out of their way to render any assistance you might need whether openly or on a private confidential basis.

I hope you will continue to post here...

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:

Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ

Ken,

Your above point is well taken and considered on my part.

I have a different perspective view of how builders and armchair philosophers react to this forum.

I believe that builders usually work alone or in select teams behind the forums lime light. Fishing and lurking for viable input from those who post for the sake of something to say or argue a point.

Probably 90% of my Bessler time is spent in the shop that the forum has little or no idea about. I work with other members of choice by private posts. These members of course originally were recognized on the forum.

I come here and post more than my fair share of chit chat, which give's me the opportunity to ponder ideas and seek new leads. What goes on behind the scenes is a total different picture. A picture of actually building questionable designs either of my own, conceived plans or derived from forum input. Or from those who entrust me to evaluate and decide whether I feel they are worthy of a POP.

You are correct that not all tell all, and that is a plain and simple fact of life.

To me when Robert first joined he was an obvious builder and a person of high empirical abilities, until he seemed to have gone off the deep end.

Dear Baron,

If it may please Your Grace:

WELCOME BACK if in fact you were away for a time. I don't really know, as I myself am fairly new around here, not yet even being a 'journeyman', but rather, a mere lowly 'apprentice' PM'ster, belonging to no cliques.

Speaking of their like in-echo, Your Grace's assertion that ". . . this sight is run by a tight little clique of PM'sters." has the pure ring of silver to it. No other thing sayable could be closer to un-driven truth, as that. The honest, but cowering and huddling sheep of us, thank you for doing so. Sometimes, SOME things just have to be said.

You may not be aware, or may be, that they have now managed to hound-out Techstuff, and seemingly to death even, judging by that oppositely-meant ". . . . May he rest in peace." bit, meanly said in writing by this forum's primary faith-hater-in-chief, and naughty prickler of Your August Self in Christian Faith. [Further than this, I shall not go for present - filled by the glorious spirit of mercy, as I am.]

If I may be so bold as to say, Your Grace impresses me strong with the notion that, as it is in the case of this site's distinguished Jonathan of great learnedness, your deliveries too, would seem to be blissfully short, sweet, and to-the-point precisely. If ONLY we could have more of their like on these pages!?!

Did you see? Only a few days ago, the so-called Private Forums were multiplying like flies out of the Abyss, and what's more, publicly showing of themselves even! Of all the nerve! It would not surprise me in the least to next find out that they are going down to assigning DEGREES, in their suspicious privacy, and no doubt sundried suspectable goings-on, all done from in hiding. Yes, BEST IT IS that we don't know of the actual truth of it, IF you know what I mean . . .

Acting boldly and perhaps out-of-turn, for which, if so, I humbly beg Your understanding and High forgiveness, may I say that I merely endeavored that I might bring Your Grace up-to-date by means of these few lines, all most respectfully submitted, but inadequately put, I'm afraid.

Looking GREATLY FORWARD to all of your most excellent submissions of the future, and, in a state of marveling and admiring from this distance, I remain

Yours Most Respectfully and Humbly,

JAMES (the simple, the ordinary and the low)

His Excellency the King of Prussia, has directed me to make known to the object called, the Bessler Board (as opposed to simple drywall) the following:

That the Court Cabinetmaker, Robert, has submitted to the princely directive of the administration of plasmapharesis to remove excess testosterone from the "ball room". We've had problems with this before.

Also, on Robert's behalf, he (Robert), was only asking questions of this little board to see if the one called jim kelly was just an idea or an actual working model.

Further, that since Bessler changed his name to Orffryeus, he changed his to Torque Seeker out of respect and to jive with the madman himself.

A split personality is the way to find the pm principle.

The King says that since Robert within days ago discovered a better way to do it, that all deals are back "on".
