Hello,
Just a question as to why their is perfect balance when one weight is obviously further from the center.
The pic is easy to understand. Two wheel conveour belt holding 2 arms with weights at different distances from the vertical axis. Seems that one side would be heavier but, thats not what wm2d shows. Any idea as to why?

For ANY 'Farther out, farther in' overbalance scenario to work, it MUST work on an ARC, that way the leverage is changed. See 'Roberval Balance' shows it perfectly. As shown, considering belt twist and sag, thing could get interesting...
