....but it seems as a "bad point",his utility(not in connection with the "tag"???)

The "tempo" (the rate of speed) is not that of a gravity fall!

The "tempo" (the rate of speed)is that of an electric motor:maybe,,.the magnetic monopole works as a battery...so,the spinning will decrease with the time?!
It can be a real performance,if we can proof the possibility of a continuous mechanical motion ,due to gravity fall and inertia ,with the same simplicity (minimum spare parts...).

But we have a thinking problem: Albert Einstein said that "we cannot solve our problems, with the same thinking,we used , when we created them".

..... as an "archived" record (2006) of a simplified concept ,at :

http://www.geocities.ws/iacob_alex/ then click "Some drafts",next click "Gravity wheel concept".

Anyway, the oldest "record" is "archived" to the sky : the Earth-Moon dynamics...

It' has a simple new idea,on paper:the free oscillating fulcrum as a recoil part of the throwing part.

Maybe it can generate some desirable designs and experiments, related to a modified trebuchet into a gravity powered device.

.....you can build and play in the most simple manner ,on you desk , at :

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nvIVdZGFzQ

Try to use and develop , your first and simplest emotion,we can discover in our mind :the curiosity about the game with gravity and inertia.

A gravity powered device/gravity motor is something alike,in my opinion , as a nearby member of the variable lever "family".

But you know : the things do not change ,we must do !

.....or a delicate motion, due to an interplay of wind-gravity-inertia , at:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3bTQnmbp4w

We have here a game with an active player/driver (wind/air flow),and and two passive players/folowers (gravity and inertia).

How about a game with two active players (gravity and inertia) , only?

As I see the things, usually inertia is a "sleeping"/passive player...so,let's "arouse it from sleep"...

Alex, you have probably covered this before if so i apologise....the simple yo-yo to me is an excellent example(especally Yomega's clutch trans-axle design)showing all the forces involved ,rotational, kinetic etc.....but how do we utilise its uniqueness .Good Luck...see link.

Hi !
Your link is useful as an introductory "gate" in this amazing "packed" practical physics (I mean the yo-yo game...)...especially if you play it.

I have a single hint about this topic (see "Yo-yo game..." Feb27/2010 )

Really ,here the apparent simplicity is an attraction, but then it can become addiction...and learning physics, also.

The problem is :can we use it for the purpose of our topic/forum ?!

In truth Alex,i have'nt examined the Yomega clutch trans axle design personally but from what i can gather, after a freefall drop it will store the energy to raise the weight of the yo-yo from whence it came ,on demand, surely this is of use here, possibly others here have knowledge of this device and can give better detail ...Good Luck.

Hi Rasselasss!

Good look to you also,if you are attracted and can make some approaches
between this so old game and the topic of this forum.

In a certain manner is a game with gravity fall as a power supply (alike the themes parks...) and inertia at "your hand":you can play it as you like ,imagine and...have the "permission" from gravity and inertia.

It can be an instructive example:without a feedback ,an irregular input (wind) is manifest as a quasi- irregular output motion.

Here, something appears as engagingour attention or curiosity :rotational inertia plays feedback motion (feed to...then, return feed ).

He replays the tests of Mikhail Dmitriyev ...but remains on the "right lane"...so,maybe he can be the "winner",in my opinion...who knows?

As I said : <My marathon on your "track" is over >...(see "iacob alex" topic) ,now I am a spectator ,only.

So as , suggests my common sense...

If my comment are disturbing you,it's so easy to quit this arena.

You brought a lot of interesting topics to this Forum Alex.and gave me an hour or so of reading and an hour or so of after thoughts .....its a sad day .....reading others blogs today and most days can be done in 5-10 minutes flat and always the repetative ,what if,conservative force etc. etc. etc.and bitching like 14 year olds ,really nothing of any interest to an enquiring mind....Good Luck Alex ...
