....you can play in a facile,so easy manner , at :

www.youtubw.com/watch?v=rZLWJHKckeA

Long time ago,the primitive man "discovered" this particular useful action to throw stones when hunting.

A trebuchet plays spiral track acceleration.

We can use it also, thinking about " short arm-long arm switch " in the top point.

.....help us to gain a greater momentum (output ),with the same effort (input ),because a throw is dependent of the last instant "pull" (velocity).

At : www.evert.de/eft293e.htm you can read that "the surplus of energy does result of skillful usage of inertia ".

A better throw is helpful for us...this can be the starter/restarter step .

I have followed Pequaid's blog with interest but did'nt quite get the reasoning behind it ,those diagrams give me a better insight to what he's at ...explains a lot.....thanks Alex.

Take it as a time-out,so to make your thinking less tense or rigid.

We know the vertical fall in gravity...this time we can see the "vertical fall" in a rotating frame...for an outside observer, it's a spiral trajectory .

In a lot of natural energy build-up phenomena , the spiral trajectory is a definitory feature...

If we compare the accelerations of a stationary frame/gravity (constant "push") with that of a rotating frame (variable, increasing "push" ) ,we can take advantages of some useful differences ...a trebuchet is an old empirical application.

A gravity motor can be also ... but let's say ,a new "quasi"-empirical usefulness.

.....as a "smart" inertial launcher , at : www.evert.de/eft294e.htm

Here we can play input<output.

The input is a starting gravity unbalance.

The output is rotational inertia.

.....as a centrifugal volute (pump ) , you can see at:

http://www.pumpworld.com/centrif1.htm

The spiral casing of the centrifugal pump , is designed so speed , will be converted to pressure.

Spiral track acceleration , can help us to use a gravity free fall ,so to throw a mass farther or...higher.

In this manner , why not...to consider a possible gravity motor , as a free fall (pulsatory) pumping process?

.....or "falling" on a rotating frame (radius) at : www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLVa_yBIAm8

On a linear frame (gravity) we have access to a constant acceleration ("g").

On a rotating frame ,we have access to greater accelerations (v*v/R) , if we play a spiral track.

We can take the power from a free gravity fall ,then project it on a free rotating "fall"...

...the result is a trebuchet (simple counterweighted gravity machine)...the "ancestor" of the coming gravity powered devices.

.....on a horizontal rotating frame (constant angular velocity ) , for a "rider" walking radially across it at constant speed :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Carousel_walk.PNG

For a vertical rotating frame ( increasing angular velocity ) ,and a masss moving radially across it , at increasing speed...we have the spiral trajectory of a lmas on the launching arm (trebuchet ) , you can see at :

http://library.thinkquest.org/05aug/00627/phy.html

If we intend to obtain "self" motion , due to gravity fall (unbalance) and (rotational ) inertia...let's remind Prof. Evert's suggestion :"...the surplus of energy does result of skillful usage of (rotational...) inertia ",you can find at :
www.evert.de/eft293e.htm

The spiral pattern is found in nature , around us : plants,animals,humans,Earth...galaxies...it's the natural order of growth.

When the motion of the energy begins to spiral , a vortex is formed.

For the topic of our forum , we can release the gravity fall ( 0* -180* ) into an upwards spiral trajectory (181*-360*) , as the sling motion of a trebuchet.

Maybe , our search is a simplified , particular kind of vortex...

I like that video,

It makes me think I was right about gravity providing energy to orbiting planets wherein orbiting mass needs more energy to move forward in time and space.

If the Kinetic Energy gained from the Potential Energy lost was equal, then there would be no energy left to move forward in time and space. IMO.
