Thanks for this Wubbly,
All credit to this guy for looking to solve our energy problem, and putting money into the search for a energy solution.
But that's the same thing we builders and researcher are do here, spending our time and money looking for a energy solution.
So we should be encouraged not ridiculed "because it is there to be found again".
Happy New year all, and good luck in your search!!!
Although it could help it is not the solution, it is not cost efficient and is a engineering nightmare.

At least it burns cleaner than oil, but it is not the solution. With the earths population increasing all the time, we are going to need our fields for growing food, not fuel for energy.WaltzCee wrote:getter, getter, alcohol is a solution. Someone said that the energy solution was simple, just reduce the population, in the future it may have to come to that.

Trevor LW,
They are reducing the population, through War and starvation and making money at the same time.
I know this rich person means well, but does anyone see the danger of tapping the earths core? one problem would be heat pollution in the atmosphere. What would happen if the core cooled to much?.
Well we let all this happen so I guess we are all to blame.

I put a pencil to this idea and Frankly I'd like to meet the one that could pedal anything in an hour that would meet my daily energy requirements. The Free Electric machine gives people the power to generate electricity themselves – pollution free. The machine is small, light and simple. Here’s how it works: A person pedals a hybrid bicycle. The bicycle wheel drives a flywheel, which turns a generator, which charges a battery. Pedaling for one hour yields electricity for 24 hours with no utility bill, and no exhaust, no waste.
What the heck am I suppose to do? Put 2 or 3 refrigerators on the curb??!!!
Burn candles??!!???

This is no answer. There are plenty of resources on earth for everyone. What needs to happen is for everyone to love one another.Trevor Lyn Whatford wrote:Someone said that the energy solution was simple, just reduce the population, in the future it may have to come to that.
Of course, that ain't happening as long as the will of man prevails. In the mean time I guess the four horse men need to saddle up and getter done.

So the 'realist' would sacrifice others to obtain more energy for himself.
And the 'dreamer' spends its energy in raising the population....
Perhaps its a problem of control: The best way to deal with things going out of control is to just let it go...instead of imposing more control. I looks like I'm saying "who cares", but what it really means: learn to appreciate the available energy - there's more than enough - there should basically be no problem.
For example: We light-up billboards and use more gadgets - we seem to be unable to have enough of those and all objects should be wifi connected anyway because we simply can. I guess that "need" will not diminish when more energy gets available.
Whatever happens population-wise, the earth and other life-forms will eventually do just fine;
unless we start leaching from the earth-core with more and more demands and expectations- and we will get closer to a planet-mars situation a tiny bit sooner.

If you want to be a dreamer
you gotta have a dream
simple isn't simple
easy isn't hard
go with it.

P.S. I don't know whether you knew that Mark E had passed away on 13th Sept 2015 (he was an extremely patient man, gifted teacher, and one of the clearest thinkers around; I read him on OU.com mainly). He will be missed.
I hope you are doing great... with all that 360km wild wind over Fiji!
No problems with you and yours?
Hope not!
BTW, for sure, some in BW will like this matter:
