When I found out it gave me the opportunity to correct spelling and grammatical mistakes. Only 2,400 post to go.

This is twice and you fail to get the point. It is futile to discuss someone's ideas if they can come back later and alter their past comments.

You could edit your own posts on the old forum too, but only for a limited amount of time. Should I add that restriction here too?

I think you should, Scott. Otherwise you give duplicitous bad actors the ability to alter context with stealth edits.

Yeah .. we've seen that before Scott. They change the context and then try to make the other guy look the idiot. Pathetic as it is.

It was 24 hours Scott. If you are like me I write what I'm going to say on the fly in one hit, thinking as I write. I don't write it in "MS Word" for example as jim_mich sometimes did for involved detailed posts, and then edit, clean it up, and paste it. Often this is in the morning for me, with time constraints, and then I have a coffee or two and do some other work. And coming back a little later I sometimes read what I wrote and decide it could do with some cleaning up to be more readable and on-point. So I would say a 3 or 4 hours of grace would be ample, but 24 hours was ok, imo.

I also made it so you only have 5 minutes to delete a post entirely.
