So many views present on this thread. Could the creation of a message be a method of signalling?

In the UK children used to send a letter home. It was blank with no stamp only the address.

On delivery to the address the person receiving the letter would show that it was blank and refuse to pay for the missing stamp.

The message was pre-arrange and the letter was the signal.

The view count is only this high because if you are like me I don't like 'red' unread symbols on the forums page index and the only way to clear them is to open the topic - I don't read them and I'm gone in less than a second. But the view count goes up because afaik there is no alternative.

I also like too clear the 'red' indicators.

Before anything else I click on the login name and 'add to foe' list.

After reading any other potentially interesting topic I hit the 'Mark Topics Read' on the top right of the Off-Topic folder.

This does not update the view count.

P.S. View count was harmed during the creation of this post.
