Does anyone knows something about installation and running WM2D on MAC?

I'm on a Mac 10.4.10 system version.

Tried to dowload and installed the CrossOver Demo software...and with this I installed the WM2D Demo as an "unauthorized software" in something called a "Bottle".

But I can't open ANY files at all!

What did I do wrong????

Can anyone help here please.

It's the demo version and I believe that the save function and also the ability to load any other files than their demo's have been disables.....crap!

I'm not sure if this question has been addressed before but I would like to know more about the following.

When two objects are set to "collide" there is always a certain amount of "penetration" that takes place.
By increasing the mass of the objects, penetration can be minimized but never eliminated.

I am by no means an expert with this program and so I ask for any tips to bring that "penetration down to a minimum and hopefully to zero.

Any help is appreciated.

Go to menu World->Accuracy. Then Change the "Integrator Error" value to a smaller value. Mine is set at 0,000001m so penetration isn't visible anymore.

Thanks a lot for the tip Broli, I'll give it a whirl.

I wish I had asked about this before because it's always been a source of frustration for me with the program.
In the real world "penetration" by two solid objects just doesn't happen.

The 'Overlap Error' setting determines the penetration depth. I set it to 0.001 when working with inches. In the real world objects deform slightly when they collide, so in a sense they do overlap.

I know they do Jim, but I was referring a condition where two objects are in contact with each other under the pressure of a force.
I have tried Brolis' advice and it really does make a difference in cutting out all that unrealistic "penetration" of the objects.

Here are two sims
The first one is set for all to "do not collide".

The second one is set for "all to collide", and it won't run .

It just sits there saying it's calculating frame one but does nothing.

This is not what I would expect, can someone please tell me why it does this. I'm stumped.

On your collide model hold shift & select every blue rectangle around the rim - then select do not collide in the menu - run the sim - now it works & the yellow mass still collides with individual blue rectangles.

I would say you were sucking computing power & memory because of overlap error of the blue rectangles - they cannot occupy the same space.

How could I not have realized this myself !! I'm definitely losing it . Maybe it's time to look for another hobby.

I read that your South Island shifted closer to Australia by about a foot the other day. Did you feel it move?

Sure did - 7.8 on the sphincter scale - don't come that big often - in about 10 million years I'll be able to walk acros to sydney at low tide :7)

My copy of wm2 might have gone buggy. Actually it's probably user error, anyone have any ideas? When I make a circle and put it on a platform, when I press play the circle sinks down and rides on a phantom inner radius instead of the actual circle edge.
