Joe,

The picture looks like it's only partially build? Did you finish building it? Did you get a chance to test it?

Hi Jim

I built it on weekends whenever i would layover for a delivery on monday...as I progressed, it would take me more and more time to get to where I left off the last time...it eventually got too time consuming just to set it up and tear it down with little actual inventing time left...so I had to leave it alone resolved that it needed to have a workshop from there on out...however, I went right to building a 3d version of it and making an animation of it as you have seen on the link...and it was how I figured out many of the parts for it just by using TurboCad the computer program...

no test yet, Jim

Also, Jim...it was coming to where, I needed to build or have built or find within industry, specialty items that would not be had at Home Depots or the like, for example, titanium for the moving parts, lead balls with a smooth hard finish shell for the weights, roller bearings to fit the required specs of this invention....

given my personal load of obligations...and my being an over the road truck driver...it was quickly apparent that I was going to need some backing to continue...but it finally is looking like I may be able to get it started soon...due to the fact that I found a very good trucking job that will help me pay for it and my kids are all grown now

Joe, you wanna get that earth shaking invention working right now and the bucks roling in fast. I hear that it is customary in the States for kids to carry the elderly loved ones over the state border and dump them plain naked without any ID so the State pays for geriatric care.

Actually, Jim, I was able to determine, although rudiment in scope, that the weights location on the weight platform does affect the balance of the see saw...

For a Roberval Balance to function properly, all the angles, pivot
locations, lever lengths, etc.....MUST be exactly right.

ANY misalignment or mismatch and the system is NOT a true
Roberval Balance and its overall behavior MAY NOT follow
exactly what a Roberval Balance would do.

Everyone recognizes that a Roberval Balance system is a good thing
for some applications, but that is NOT really relevant to a
Bessler wheel.

It might be appropriate to study structures LIKE the Roberval Balance
but have been INTENTIONALLY modified. What happens to this
complex linkage when various lever sizes have been modified,
pivots moved slightly, and balance pans tilted slightly?

It just seems unfair and wrong to quickly dismiss a design that at
first glance seems to resemble a Roberval Balance but in fact
might be slightly different and thus may mechanically behave in
a very useful way.

So Bessler's MT143 is not relevant? Then why was Bessler interested in it?

Jim, you are kind of demonstrating my point.

As I look at this picture, I don't really understand what is going on.
I don't even see a wheel.

But I do see the general outline of a paralleogram so it seems so
easy to classify it as some form of a Roberval Balance.
And thus expect it not to be out of balance and not be useful.

This is an interesting picture. Open to all kinds of interpretations.

Jim, what do you think Bessler is trying to show here?

This is definitely a modified Roberval Balance. Bessler added the geared weights that are able to swing apart 180º. I think this was to be a teaching aid for the school that Bessler wanted to start. It always balances even though it looks like it would be OOB. This demonstrates that looks can be deceiving, much like with Joe's Perpetual Motion See-Saw.

Jim and Bill...

I don't anything about Bessler nor Roberval; and although I did check out some existing patents of perpetual motion back in 1992 at the PTO, I just came up with the design by trying things out and thinking about it very much...and in fact, since i have been on this site, I am starting to come up with more new ideas...

I am so convinced about it, that physics teachers at MIU back in 1992 were not able to sway me...in fact...

If someone with the stature of Einstein would come and tell me it won't work...it would be that he/she might as well be telling me that Santa Claus raided his/her kitchen last night...I would not believe him/her ...

actually...I am so intrigued by this deep belief that I have...more than anything...it's supernatural! and actually feeds my belief because of all the things that happened to me to get me to this point...

I just might as well do it...just do it! so the slogan from Nike goes...just do it...

Thank you Jim and Bill

1. [n] the act of deluding; deception by creating illusory ideas
2. [n] a mistaken or unfounded opinion or idea; "he has delusions of competence"; "his dreams of vast wealth are a hallucination"
3. [n] (psychology) an erroneous belief that is held in the face of evidence to the contrary

It is what I have been hearing since i started and yet this hasn't stopped me yet...limited only by my finances and obligations...

I am having so much fun doing this, Jim...and if you ever heard the story of the philosopher's stone...this is sort of like that..in fact...my next post will share a meditation technique that I have developed from my studies of it over the last thirty some years
