Usually the deep state is more of a red tape bureaucracy with a political allegiance. New governments get elected in every four years but much of the government underneath stays the same. This is especially true of a government setup the way US is.

Look at the killing of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. Fairly obvious intelligence covert operation was in effect by some government. Do you think all CIA operations are known to the President? He doesn’t seem to know what going on at the FBI department. That because of the separation of powers so you know he knows less about the CIA. That is the deep state; there is no denying it even if some professor says so.

Most governments are happy to tell the masses deep state doesn't exist. How else is big brother susposed to work effectively. Why were they chasing Snowden around the world; a guy that had been at his job 3 months. Some people need some of ovyyus's critical thinking.

That is exactly right agor95. The President on a lot of CIA and military technology isn’t going to get a straight answer unless he directly asks about project or they have to use it. How does he even ever know some of that super secretive projects even exist to ask about. Think about it, it’s to protect the President also so he has access to deniability when they come to light. For years Presidents have told the public they were going to get to the bottom of some conspiracy theory for example say JFK only to do nothing about it after they got in. Look at Project SHAD, the LSD military experiments, project ARTICHOKE or maybe putting head of a dog onto a monkey or who knows what they are doing. No president wants to be linked to that stuff. Things are more complicated than they look.
