Bessler's use of Gravity

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
That is true I did so state.
I thank you Jim for waking me up, I am aware of the group index to private forums but got tube-locked I guess, and forgot all about it. I now know how many members there are and who they are.
Edit: and my 20 month old request to join Stewarts group is still pending!
Thanks!

Probably get demoted some more for this opinion, but it reminds me of----"The louder he spoke of his honor, the faster we counted our spoons."

YES! Of course I realize that Bessler did it first. Myself, I thought that was why we are all here. J.L. Kelly

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
Gordy,
I also was aware that Stewarts forum is dead. My statement was meant in jest!
I also have had communication with Stewart, and the idea of assuming his forum is enticing, but one I would have to consider. I would not bother to take control if I were to open it to the public. That would defeat its purpose.
Some times I will take to parties ideas and get permission to merge them making for a three way deal. a forum restricted to the three would have an advantage.
Winkle and 1712,
I was taught the one can only lose respect by demanding it! I believe you must earn it. You will get it no other way from me, which is of course, irrelevant to those who could give a damn about earning my respect!

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
I sent Stewart an email a few days ago, had no reply.
I have his address but I'm not sure what to do, he only lives 35 miles from me.
Maybe JC knows something?
Pete.

I think one good way to lose respect is to harp about the importance of gaining your respect.rlortie wrote:

Did you see the response of james kelly about the preacher card? Imagine something like that coming from somebody who's glad the strife has ended....LOL.

you claim to have a working wheel but for some reason known only to you you have no interest in building it
not worthy of much respect
some like to do their seeking in private forums away from the rest of the board
i suppose lets those folks keep their ideas secret while at the same time fishing from the the public part of the board
not a problem as far as i am concerned
not worthy of much respect
most of the scientific thought in the world is that those of us that visit these kind of places are dimwits
until that is disproven by someone somewhere i can't really argue with them
i have a fairly strong belive that the goal is possible but it certainly is not a blind faith
a man could spend his whole life trying to touch his elbow to his nose if he has enough blind faith
not worthy of much respect
everyone who comes here already knows their ideas for a wheel will not work but mabe just mabe one day one will work
we all like to belive that long ago and far away there was one that did work
all that has been accomplished to date is nothing
not worthy of much respect
0 working wheels and no one is counting past that yet
my question is where is the earned respect

re: Bessler's use of Gravity
Nope I am saying that a lie can be covered up but the threads of abstraction that can be seen lead back to that lie. The enviroment that grows from a lie, reflects the lie. When people choose belief over fact searching, then they are helping to obscure the lie, are ignoring the branches that have grown from it, and are following the path of the idiot. I've at times followed that path, as have you and probably everyone. I try not to follow that path. Usually I find myself on that path when the search for the truth is so overwhelming and no answer is apparent. It can be easier on the mind and body to choose a temporary belief if one is wracked with frustration. People are on that path because they aren't exercising reason, because it is simpler for them to follow another persons belief - or what they tell them, or what they tell themselves to make it easier.
Since everyone has been on that path Mark Twain has been on it as well. His statement strikes me as one that comes from the opinion of belief due to his personal experience rather than one that comes from the opinion of absolute pure reason. He was a poet after all, poets take poetic license.

i somewhat agree with you're answer although we can not know for certain a lie until the truth is found
most of the ideas on this site come from orignal thought even if they have been thought of before
appears to be an endless recycling of orignal thought
i suppose just goes to prove the saying
those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it
sadly the more we repeat that saying the more out of sorts we can get at times
except those that say they know the answer
who can know why they come to visit
some people have spent 30 years or more tinkering with what to date is a total failure
if reason applied there would be zero members on this board

like wanting to belive each design thought of will work even though they never doIt can be easier on the mind and body to choose a temporary belief if one is wracked with frustration.[
well now ain't that why we are all visiting this site hopeing someone will spark an idea in us that will workOther times people are on that path because they haven't exercised reason, because it is simpler for them to follow another persons belief

Hey, who let that guy with a grasp of reality in? :)
Surprisingly, my wife (who also has that same foundation in reality) seems quite content with my wheel endevours. The only other thing to do in my neck of the woods is to drink or go curling (which also involves drinking.) So I guess she figures it keeps me out of trouble! Plus, she's pretty sure that there aren't many women on this site that I'm seeing on the side. (Are there any women on this board? Why is that? Hmmm..)
Anyway, there are a lot less productive things to do in this world than try build the empirically impossible.
Just try not to go insane doing it. That kind of defeats the purpose of having a 'futile' hobby.
