meditation for the people

enjoy

you want to meditate so that you can enjoy the peaceful serenity that comes from it...thereby dissolving the stresses of the day...there are other benefits too but that is the immediate one and the one that keeps meditators to continue doing so...

and here is a recipe for those that want to try...
it is really quite simple...no hocus pocus...
and you can develop your own personal mantra and style

all the mantra repetition does...really...is to develop a vortex of that particular vibration...through repetition...that vibration overtakes all the other vibrations that are linked to the thoughts and emotions that you are entertaining at the time...thus diminishing them...just enough so as to enjoy the feeling of peaceful bliss that comes from being able to quiet the mind like this...

now. as for the mantra...why not use mantras from Sanskrit...which is said to be the spiritual language...the world's oldest known language...10,000 years old...

also...repetition creates a staccato which forms a beat...if you will...

and add to that...if you want to apply the mantra to a simple tune of musical notes...sort of like a lullaby which rocks your mind to sleep...if you will...

so, friends...these are the simple principles for effective meditation

now...to pick a mantra...some Sanskrit syllables...which hold no particular meaning, but are recommended are... ya...om...la...
with just these three ...you can build for yourself...your own personal mantra...perhaps of 5 syllables...

for example...yalaomyaom...

see how that fits...
so repeat...pause a second...repeat...pause a second...etc etc

make a simple tune with it...your very own personal mantra!

as for how long and when to do it

probably first thing in the morning for 5 minutes...and then anytime you need to break down some stress during the rest of the day...
:)...

Just to expand a bit on what Jim was saying about Bessler's Roberval Balance drawing....

What's sometimes referred to as MT143 is actually not a numbered woodcut print, but rather a hand drawn picture on the back of MT 136. It depicts a Roberval balance demonstration apparatus. There are many examples of this type of demonstration apparatus, but Bessler's is by far the best I've ever seen, as by using the geared weight-levers you can adjust the centre of gravity for each pair on a sliding scale from far right to far left, and thus prove very easily and conveniently that any combination of centre of gravity positions on either side results in balance. Of course there may be various reasons as to why Bessler shows this drawing, but at the very least it's a very relevant demonstration in the field of PM/overbalanced-wheel research.

Note though that a Roberval balance only works if the pivot-points connecting the parallelogram to the support/stand remain in vertical alignment. If you rotate the apparatus you'll kill the concept.

Here are some links to my previous posts on the subject...

Thank you Stewart...I am willing to bet that Bessler and Roberval would succeed if they were around today because the technology is so much better today and getting better every day...perhaps in ten...twenty years, some more stuff will be invented that will make this a feasible reality...perhaps it is possible already

Hey all,

I have been holding off commenting for a while, mostly because I have been working on my own wheel.

Aside from the problem of it being a roberval balance beam the other glaring problem is why does the ball move to one side and then to the other. It is because the center of gravity of the ball moves,(weight has to change from high to low) look closely at the animation. The narrow end has the ball when the center of gravity is high then the ball rolls downhill much like a double cone does. At the wide end there is a good portion of the ball below the parallel bars and then the animation pulls the two bars close together which means the ball has to be lifted up....requiring tons of work/friction/heat. Perhaps this has already been talked about.

Hi Jon

the ball also has the momentum of being released by the trip mechanism...and as well...with the weight platform being at an advantageous slant, gravity works to help out in the mix...

as the see saw raises the the ball on the inner ...is being squeezed between the two shifter rods where the lubricated sleeves on these rods allow for this...

electro magnetism may also be employed

it may also be assisted mechanically if needed

it all remains to be seen what will be needed when it is finally built...

and even if it is going to need a little outside assistance by way of electrical expenditure ...in the beginning...so as to create a net loss where the operation actually needs some kilowatts to function...but as we watch it move...things become apparent about what we can do to tweak this and that...to where evntually...less kw's are needed...and then the time will come...where it produces kw's

so that is how it may happen

Joe, hi!
Let's talk about the design you presented in this thread.
I think that you got too much dispersive and lazy.
If I was you I would remember whose is this idea from!
Take care!

Wow !!! A brawl !!! "Scarface"Murilo vs "Slogger" Joe M.

Joe, looked at your animation. I hear you on the being convinced it'll work, and it's pretty irrelevant that it one day is "proven" not to work. It's a good trip you are on :-)

Otherwise, I don't see it working, any more than anything which has identical / symetrical movement and displacement of mass on both sides. Kind of cancels out. It might be as good as a simple pendulum, but that's as close as you'll get to PM IMMO. Say the runtime (till stall) of a pendulum is 20 minutes. If you try and remove energy, the time decreases dramatically...

Why do you need expensive materials to build that ? You need a beater bicycle (5 bucks from the dump), an old push pram, two balls. And some rivetting and welding equipment.

Joe, you know exactly what I mean and who would be the owner... or your boss on this insight! :|

Murillo...no brawl needed...let's just agree to disagree...

but where do you get the idea about lazy?...and dispersive?...I had to look that one up...lol...

and why do I have to remember whose is this idea from?

please kindly explain...lol...if you would

Nic...now i understand where you and others are coming from....however...I have it stuck in my head...that I can continue an imbalance on the see saw...perpetually...

perpetual motion exists already...Nic...look at religions...they are perpetually at each others throats...since time immemorial...lol...lol...

christians hate jews...gays...hindus...jews hate gays...through their stories...propose that everyone is jewish...because we are all descendents of noah...muslims are pissed off about israel...give us 911...bush declares war on terrorism...god is going to reward bush...he thinks...christians persecute jews for believing the stories put in by romans that the jews killed Jesus...
I could go on and on...perpetually...lol...lol...lol...
Nic...perpetual motion already exists...lol

Dearest Nic and Murilo

I am going to figure out how to keep the see saw imbalanced perpetually...I may start off using outside kw's to achieve this ...at first...then study the movements...and figure out how to eliminate needing outside help ...

you can think of it as perpetual motion on training wheels...lol...

once i have the thing in motion...I will see what I can do to achieve this...

I am certain that I can

so it remains...a vision that I received during a meditation way back in 1982 and which the memory of the Girls of FreakieFries spurred me on into working on it in 1992, just to impress them...and it remains on-line as transparent as can be...
I am unable to continue with it for the time being but if ever I can, I will post it here
thank you all for your interest and i hope you enjoy the meditation techniques that I share on my web site www.freakiefries.com
