Ed,
You didn't hear me right. The USA isn't paying for coal imports in my statement. Existing coal users are paid to retrofit. I don't want the USA to front the bill for its own coal companies. I want the entire world to pay the US coal companies to change their method and I want the entire world to pay the Chinese coal companies to change their method and I want the entire world to pay Russia to take control of the Arctic and freeze and cool it. I don't care how much it costs to get the best possible cooperation, it should be paid and begin immediately because life on Earth depends on it! Anybody who agrees that life on Earth could die because of AGW, since when the algae dies there will be oxygen deprivation, should let Russia and China and the USA and all retrofitting behavior have a blank check. It's not controversial to me because I desperately want to keep breathing oxygen. Believe it!
Grandfather clocks and tires do not take extra energy from gravity. They are not unbalanced. Those items are no different than me using my muscles against gravity. I am not pushing planet Earth around, or I don't think that I am, 70% sure I'm not moving the planets orbit. Maybe 90% sure.[/b][/u]

Sorry, I must have "heard", "Because China is currently using coal blah bitty blah blah I think the rest of the world should pay them for it."
I also don't get how you think the rest of the world (plus or minus China?) will pay American companies once China cleans up its coal usage?
I guess you didn't "hear" me when I said out of balance tires? If the Earth was some kind of big gravity battery then when something fell it would drain the battery. That would mean that all unbalanced tires would be draining and charging the battery and the average of all things spinning, falling, wobbling, etc. would be the current charge state of the battery? No? Well explain it to me! How would a wheel powered by gravity slowly destroy the Earth?

I think stealing gravitational energy would be equivalent to adding moons to the planet. So the planet would move off of its axis due to free energy from gravity. Gravity might not be adversely effected by tires and clocks because of a strong range of kinetic balance. Could volcanoes and Earthquakes shift the Earth off of its axis some? I believe that has happened before. A gravity wheel would be 10x more dangerous at shifting the Earths position, in my opinion.
About the paying to retrofit I was saying Every company worldwide that is currently dirty would be paid to retrofit to clean production and not produce any additional dirty facilities for fuel usage. It's therefore not just a deal for China.
Why wouldn't people pay the USA to retrofit? The US companies are just as stubborn and dirty as China. China just uses more coal because the US residents won't tolerate the pollution and China does. That is why China has more pollution.
China gets their coal from the USA because the USA refuses to consume a lot of coal. If coal were perfectly clean, we would mine those coal mines empty right away to get the cheap fuel. Coal is cheap. If it were clean too it would be all that we would use!

re: Some thoughts on thermal conductivity
If the algae dies and there is an oxygen crisis on the planet, I don't think that is can be easily solved by creating oxygen somehow for the atmosphere. I think our oxygen needs to come from plant life. Here is why, I think while the oxygen is in the air that it changes its freshness or literally is vulnerable to radiation and becoming like a compound instead of an element somehow. If the planet doesn't get the correct amount of oxygen from plants like algae and the oxygen gets stale in the atmosphere from it artificially being added, I think animals and mankind will go insane and it would be hell on Earth.
Some questions come to mind to test this hypothesis, such as how does radiation effect oxygen and does plant life restore the oxygen to optimal freshness?
Every sealed environment that I've heard of such as NASA tests for living in an artificial environment or Russian sleep experiment and there were some isolation experiments and every one of them were sealed up. I think in those experiments that maybe the oxygen got "stale" and that is why they experienced such a miserable paranoid existence. I have a unique opinion here about oxygen quality but if I'm right then oxygen can go stale or have traits other than what frequently reproduced plant based oxygen would and that could cause hell on Earth when global warming kills enough algae to have to use damaged oxygen. We don't know if oxygen can be damaged, because we have the privilege of non-stop recycling of brand new oxygen into our atmosphere.
It seems that everything that comes to mind about Global Warming and an oxygen crisis is very disturbing. I have nothing good to say about Global warming. It is entirely dangerous and has no benefit to my ideas about it.
